Beautiful tick, hourly strike and simple to set up
This is a wonderfully presented clock for the price - huge value for the price in fact. I was super impressed at the care taken to package and post the clock, each part being carefully shouldered by cardboard - and make sure you have a cable tie cutter, they love securing things with cable ties. The clock arrives in thee distinct parts: the body, which includes the face, mechanism and two chains. Second is the pendulum and thirdly the counter weight. I weighed this to be approximately 1.2KG, so quite a substantial weight. The rest of the clock weighed in at about 850g.The clock was easy to set up, although the instructions are a little lacking in accuracy but with some common sense I was able to work through the installation. The only fault I have found so far is the ‘ding’ of the chime which only strikes ONCE on the hour. No quarter strikes or Big Ben bongs for this clock, though it does come across as unique after a while. The strike of the bell seemed to be happening ten to the hour, rather than on the hour. Moving the hour hand simply moved the mechanism inside that pushed the striking hammer. So to get around this I physically held the arm that goes from the clock face to the striking mechanism and at the same time turned the hour arm to the hour position. It took a little figuring out but got there in the end, even though it still strikes about a minute to the hour but some careful adjustment in the same way will resolve this I’m sure.It was massively reassuring and enjoyable to ‘wind’ the clock for the first time. Unlike a key wind mechanism which coils the sprint inside, this pulls the 1.2kg weight back to the top to just beneath the clock itself. You do this by pulling the secondary chain that has nothing on it - this is just for pulling on to raise the weight. Once it’s in top position it should take 7 days for it to lower and the clock will stop. Once both chains meet in the middle then it’s time to pull that chain again. I wound the clock on 24 hours and the weight had moved down about two inches. The sound is great, very gentle and relaxing - not too loud and obtrusive, unlike other pendulum clocks I’ve had. The clock face is a tad small for my liking but it’s size does lend itself to more spaces around the house where space is a premium. You must always make sure that you have space for the drop of both chains, otherwise the clock function may stop. The clock is currently resting in a temporary position - to determine whether it runs fast or slow (a weight on the bottom of the pendulum can be moved to compensate for this) and even one room away we can hear the tick and chime but only gently in the background. My wife, who was unsure of getting a pendulum clock, has now been won over by the ‘relaxing’ sounds it makes. The overall design is excellent - the clock face uses Roman numerals and one has the impression that they might have been painted by hand. The gold accents of the model we chose aren’t too over the top and are just enough to stand out from the black of the face and case.Would I change anything? Yes, I’d like a better understanding of how the clock works, how each part you’re asked to work with actually functions as part of the clock and maybe a troubleshooting section to the instructions that deals with how to fix the chime when it doesn’t hit the hour mark - as ours did. It was a bit of brute force and luck that fixed it for us, but not everyone is comfortable doing this.Overall and excellent clock for its price. Beautiful sound. Would have been nice to have an option to upgrade to a clock that chimes the hours rather than just one ‘ding’. This is what I was looking for, but to be honest I’m so pleased with it I am not going to be sending it back for such a small matter.

Unfortunate Purchase
We bought this for my mother in law after doing research on the brand etc and thought this would have been great, looked amazing and was her style of clock. within 2-3 months it has stopped working and the clock face is falling off, very poor quality and has not left a good impression. DO NOT BOTHER PURCHASING THIS

Beautiful.
I have been wanting to buy a clock that doesn’t use batteries for a long time and when I saw this clock I fell in love, it’s so simple hang it on the wall high enough for the chain to fully extend, hang the weight on the chain gently nudge the pendulum set the time by moving the big hand clockwise and it’s doing its thing. The ticking is a nice mellow tone. I find it comforting and the hourly chime is just a short ting! I live in a small cottage with low ceilings and my rooms are smallish so the size of the clock is perfect. It may get a bit lost in large high ceiling rooms but I still think it would look lovely in any home. It is well made and worth the cost in my opinion but just one little niggle for me is the gold clock face trim it’s a bit bling so I hope it dulls with age. This was a present from my hubby so that adds to it’s beauty in my eyes.

Love it. Great clock! Buy it.
The media could not be loaded. The clock is well-made and was accurate to within two minutes the first 24 hours. I have adjusted its time-keeping accuracy per the instructions, and it’s dead accurate now. The ticking sound is extremely pleasing without being loud or annoying. The single, hourly chime from the bell is warm and has depth and luster to it; it’s not tinny at all. Very please! Buy this clock!
