You will only be the descaling the hot water, not the cold. Since the cold line tease off before it hits the water heater and comes out hot. Get it

Thank you for your question. Yes, you can use thermal foam tape or other insulation devices to protect the YARNA CWD30 or CWD48 Electronic Water Descaler. Although both units are for indoor and outdoor use, it's still an electronic device and we still need to take safety precautions. Thus it's best to still be protected from too much heat and cold.

Q: Is there a limit of time after water is treated that the water goes back into its original state when the waters not being used?

Yes. The water will recombine. Just flow cold water for a few minutes. Hot water (with tank) is another story unless you put the device on the outlet of the hot water tank. The best place to put the device is close to the tap (outlet). Device not perfect but very good at cold water inlet into the house.

Thank you for your question. If you have a salt-based water softener, our product is redundant. Salt-water softener normally removes minerals (including Calcium and Magnesium) in the water and replaces it with salt. While water descaler acts on the calcium and magnesium in the water by changing its structure so that they looses it's adherence effect and therefore won't stick anymore to any surfaces. So if you have the salt-water softener, it will defeat the purpose of having a descaler. So our recommendation is to only choose one of them and NOT have both working. Depending on what you want/need I strongly suggest installing only one of the two. If you want no minerals in the water then salt systems are the way to go. If you want to eliminate the nasty side-effects of calcium, Yarna will do that.
