This unit saved me $50,000.
I was fed up with my 2014 Honda Pilot phone interface as well as the horrible radio. My wife has digital radio and apple CarPlay in her 2018 Tucson, so I really wanted that too. After looking at the price of new Honda’s and trying to justify spending all that money, someone suggested I just purchase a stand-alone apple CarPlay unit. Well, I purchased this one… and it works perfectly with my iPhone SE 2.Now when I get in the car, it connects wirelessly. I can make phone calls via the Bluetooth connection to the Honda Pilot and can control the volume via the steering wheel as well as end phone calls. All without touching the CarPlay display. Make sure you change your iPhone setting to allow Siri when the iPhone is locked if you want to call someone hands free. If not, it’s easy to press the phone app and select the person you want. I just prefer that Siri to does the work for me since I am paying her monthly.I can now stream music, and it sounds great! Much better than the old FM radio.I also love that I can use WAZE or Google Maps to find my way home now that I am getting older.I installed the unit on drivers’ side since the suction end sticks really well to the window. I couldn’t get it to stay stuck in the middle on the dashboard, even with using an iOttie sticky pad.I ran the power wire down the left and under the door threshold and into my console to plug in for the power. It didn’t reach so I just made a 12V cigarette cord extension using some old 16-gauge wire I had laying around and a socket and plug I got on Amazon for cheap.I first tried using a fuse tap, but the one I tried didn’t fit into the fuse box under the dash since the only circuit that was energized on accessory was too close to the top.And for some reason, the 3 cigarette fused circuits are actually under the hood, and I really didn’t feel like fishing a wire through the firewall. So far, so good. And this is a great value for the money.

Get it if u have an older car
CarPlay Review:I recently installed CarPlay in my teenage daughter's car, and I couldn't be happier with the decision. The installation process was incredibly easy, which was a huge relief. It took just a short amount of time, and I was able to set it up without any hassle. One of the best things about CarPlay is that it has all the features she's used to from my car. From navigation to music apps, everything is familiar and user-friendly for her. This makes it safer and more enjoyable for her to drive, as she can access her favorite apps without getting distracted.Additionally, the price was very affordable, which is always a plus when it comes to car upgrades. Overall, I highly recommend CarPlay for any teen driver looking for a seamless and safe driving experience.

Not worth the low price! You’ll end up spending more buying a new one.
Stops working. When it does it’s a pain in the butt to get connected. It often lags when it does connect and I would say its value for money but if it only lasts about 3 months what’s the point? It ends up being more expensive to buy a new one. All in all, don’t waste your money.

Don't have CarPlay/Android Auto.. Get this!
I bought this to put in my old broken down work truck. This thing is great. Interface is simple with no lag. Set up is a breeze. Screen is bright and sharp. Only negative I would say is the internal speaker is pretty horrible. Even at 100 volume, it's not very good, but I don't use it anyway, so not an issue. Don't have CarPlay/Android Auto? Get this!

It makes driving much more convenient and enjoyable. Highly recommend if you’re looking to upgrade your car with wireless CarPlay

solid Android Auto / Apple Car Play screen for older cars
this is a very handy item if you want to add Android Auto or Apple Car Play capability to an older vehicle that does not support these services. It is light-weight, easy to install and configure on your phone. The only issues I encountered were there was a slight learning curve using this device as there are no buttons (physical or otherwise) to back out of the Apple Car Play or Android Auto screens once the device has connected to your phone. This made setting the playback mode for the Audio portion rather tricky. This device has small speakers built in, so your audio playback can come directly from the unit itself. The speakers sounded fairly loud and were easy to hear over the normal sounds from within the vehicle. This device also has the ability to broadcast your mobile device audio to your cars speakers via a built in FM transmitter in the device to a matching FM frequency in your car radio. This frequency is not set and I found over a long distance drive, I needed to adjust the broadcast frequency as I moved into an area that had radio stations broadcasting on a similar frequency. You can also play your audio on your car stereo via the included AUX cable, which in the vehicle I was testing it in AUX turned out to be the best option for connecting to your car stereo. This also has the ability to have your mobile phone broadcast the audio to the car stereo directly (if the stereo had blue tooth capability. the only problem I encountered was that I needed to get out of Android Auto or Apple Car Play by either disconnecting it on my phone or unplugging the power cord which allowed me a few seconds to change/switch the desired audio playback option or find an FM frequency that was not in use. in the local area. Overall this is a pretty good device if you're in an older vehicle and want to use Car Play or Android auto and don't want to stare at a small screen.
