DIY Whiskey Kit by Whiskify - Complete with Botanicals, Wood Chips & Decanter for Bourbon Infusion

This is a really fun gift idea for the cocktail lover in your life. I haven’t had a chance to taste the finished product yet, but if you’re thinking about trying this, there are some things you should know. It actually seems like a pretty nice set—there are eight little jars of infusion ingredients and a nice fluted decanter, all packed nicely in a giftable box—but there are hardly any instructions. Should I shake it after I add the ingredients? Should I keep it in the fridge? Is there a limit to how long I should leave the infusion in the bottle? How do I get the ingredients into the bottle anyway? And when I used the QR code and web address included in the box, hoping to get an instructional video or more information, it took me to a website that sells stainless steel water bottles! There is a little booklet with suggested “recipes” included (add peach wood chips and dried apple for a peach apple whiskey!) but no info on what types of spirits to infuse or even how to get the stuff into the bottle. Hint: the bottom of the bottle screws off—mine hasn’t leaked! Oh and be aware that the infusion recipes are all in grams, so unless you have a kitchen scale or are some sort of mad scientist, it may be hard to get the measurements right. I just started infusing a bottle of Canadian whiskey—let’s see if it makes it taste any better than it did originally.That said, the set is undeniably fun to experiment with, and the quality of the ingredients seems good—everything looks fresh and smells great. It’s perfect for someone who enjoys a bit of trial and error and doesn’t mind figuring things out as they go. While clearer instructions and a functional website would have made this a five-star product, the beautiful packaging and creative potential still make it a great gift idea for any cocktail enthusiast.

Super unique gift for the whiskey fan in your life. Works well but may want to start with a neutral flavor whiskey so you can really gage how to infuse it. Shipping was not good. Was sent in a bag and the box arrived damaged without time to exchange it before the holidays.

Such a nice product for any whiskey drinker and enthusiast. Like that it gives you guidance. This would make a super cool present or white elephant gift.

Finally used this for my bday party, wasted a crap load of liqour due to the cheap seal. Leaked over and over no matter how tight we tightened, we come back to the bar its a puddle up under it and then we had to do the process over again after finding somewhere to pour out the liqour left inside. Wont buy again, just looks good.

I bought this as a gift for a White Elephant gift exchange for Christmas and almost kept it myself because of how pretty it is! It's an amazing value for the price and looks way more expensive and high end than it is! The fluting on the bottle is beautiful and would absolutely elegant sitting on any shelf, island or liquor cabinet. The bottle seems like high quality glass, with the infuser inside being metal. The jars are great and gives you so many different options for infusing, although you could come up with your own additives, too. The person that ended up with this at the party said that they were so lucky to get the best gift there! I'd call that a win!

This is a great gift for the whiskey enthusiast in your life. This kit comes with a whiskey decanter bottle with a removable bottom. This is where you put the spices/wood chips for the infusion you want to make. We used cherry wood chips first—yummy flavor. Of course, different whiskeys are going to mix differently with each organic infusion ingredient. This kit offers a great way to up your whiskey game. It is also great to share with friends as they probably have not had homemade infusions on their whiskey. While trying your own blends can be whiskey business, it is all good as the items included in the kit complement your whiskey. Overall a great kit. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. It would make a super gift!

This whiskey infuser kit is a blast. It comes with a high quality fluted glass decanter with a removable bottom. You put your wood chips or fruit peels or what you want to infuse into the whiskey into a metal screen on the bottom. Fill the bottle with your favorite whiskey and screw the bottom back on after that. Leave to infuse for as long as you would like, depending on how much flavor you want. Comes in a nice box that is definitely giftable and eight small containers of fruit, peels and wood chips to start your journey with. I've seen people complain because of lack of instructions or recipes, but I think that is more intentional as this is just a starting point. It is something you are meant to play with and come up with your own infusions. Overall, I think this is a great thing for the whiskey lover and I've been thrilled with mine.
