Barnetts Roof Valley Controllers (Shingle Valley)

These things are amazing! I was skeptical at first because the material they are made of did not seem too durable. I paid my contractor who installed my gutter screens to install these since some of the gutter screens had to be cut away to fit these in. He was a bit skeptical too. I used to have what looked like Niagara Falls shooting from my inside corner roof valleys during even the lightest rain shower but not anymore! Even in winter, we did not have the icicles and ice damming like in the past. It is not quite a year since they were installed but so far, I am impressed.

Before you install it. Make sure your gutter corner is water tight and it doesn't leak. Clean the gutter and Seal the seams with 100% silicone glue before you start. Fit check first, I used a hair dryer to soften the plastic so that it forms against the roof valley better. You will need to trim the plastic for a better fit. Trim a little at a time. Next While pressing the plastic down firmly into the gutter install two one inch screws to secure the plastic to the gutter at the front. Drill two pilot holes to help. Next Seal the edge where it meets the valley with silicone glue. You will need something heavy to press down on the plastic while the silicone glue sets. Use 100% silicone on connection with the roof valley smooth it so the water flows well from the valley over the top of the plastic.

Works great, had a downpour today and no water overshot the gutter. Only issue is that they are plastic and worry about them fading. Good thing is you hardly notice them so if fading occurs may not matter.

I bought two of the corner ones (valleys) and two of the flat ones (for over my front door). I had three places that overflowed on a regular basis and I was losing hope of finding a good solution. Other attempts to stop the overflow would always result in trapping leaves and acorns and end up flooding over anyway. I have gutter covers, but water would shoot right over them and pour down off the roof. These worked extremely well and I couldn’t be happier. We have had some major rainstorms and nothing flows over my gutters anymore! So happy I came across these after hours of searching for an effective solution to my problem.

This is a good product but not for my particular application.

We have a metal roof & valley that meet up with a shingle roof. We have Leaf Guard gutters & the inside corners are horrible, can't even catch the water coming down the metal valley because they are too small. We've had Leaf Guard out to "adapt" the corners but nothing would stop the water from just pouring over the inside corner & pelting the countertop below. We found these on Amazon. The video was a great presentation so we thought we'd give them a try. We had to install them a little differently as we could not fit the end part in the small gutter corner so it rests a bit above it. No big deal, they are dark & so is our roof. These work GREAT! We've had a few heavy rains since installing them & they slow the water down so much that it goes right into the gutter. Highly recommend this product, so happy we found it!

We have two of these installed in gutter areas where there are corners. Installation is easy and takes very little time to complete.Normal rain is controlled, remaining in the gutter system to be carried away from the foundation. Another plus of these controllers is that when there is a terrific downpour (such as 7”/hr) rain is quickly diverted, shooting several feet away.Quick service, reasonable price, easy to install and very effective.

Had this installed a few weeks and was just waiting for a heavy rain. Prior to having this, my gutter guards at the corner couldn’t handle the rain volume and it would come spilling over the edge like a waterfall in front of my entryway steps, guaranteeing a water shower. After installing, it definitely worked 90% of the time during a very heavy rainfall, diverting 100% into the gutters. The other 10% of the time this particular rainfall was just overwhelming my entire gutter system and one small, narrow stream came shooting high and over the corner - not the fault of the device, just too much rain for my gutters to handle. For most rains, this will handle the corner far better than it was before.
