The Mixer Bible: Maximizing Your Stand Mixer and Attachments

If you're new to stand mixing, this is the book you're looking for to help you get started
I think this is a great starting-point book for people who purchase a stand mixer. I agree with prior commenters that one can most fully appreciate the recipes in this book if you purchased a significant chunk of the available accessories for the device. As for me, this was not much of a hindrance since the reason I bought the mixer in the first place was to process large quantities of garden tomatoes into sauce which meant that I needed the frult/veg grinder which is actually the meat grinder plus a few different parts. I found a combo kit with the meat and fruit/veg grinder that also included the rotary shredder/slicer, so in pursuit of my fruit/veg grinder I wound up with nearly the entire complement of accessories (for a price much less than all of that individually but that still came in at nearly as much as the mixer itself...I threw in $10 for the sausage stuffer tubes while I was at it). So I have the opportunity to pursue more recipes from this book than others, but for starters I'm tackling the bread section and so far the recipes I've tried work great. I've learned a lot by comparing the methods different recipes use for mixing the ingredients, which actually does affect how the bread turns out. In all, I am extremely satisfied with this book even though I wish it had more pictures. Speaking of pictures, one of the most useful chapters includes pictures of how to assemble and mount the most common accessories, which is very helpful if you're (like me) a rank newbie at this without anyone to show you the ropes (although I had to figure out the fruit/veg grinder on my own). If you're brand-new to stand mixer cooking, this is the book you're looking for to help you get started.

My Favorite KA Stand Mixer Cookbook, Especially for New Users
Besides the Instructions and Recipes book that comes with the unit, I have purchased this book on sale: The Mixer Bible, Third Edition (2013) (300 recipes with no recipe photos; the first 48 pages, however, go into food prep basics, and describe and show photos of how to use the mixer and attachments [demonstrating both the KitchenAid tilt-head and bowl-lift models]; mixer speeds are also mentioned in the recipe steps. The authors are 2 cooking instructors/ food writers who can walk mixer users, especially those who are new, into using a stand mixer. This is my favorite stand mixer cookbook. I will learn how to use my stand mixer and later transfer these skills to making/ revising other recipes while using my KitchenAid.)Both books are good additions to new KitchenAid stand mixer buyers and tell us how to use our mixers to prepare food. After using both books, buyers will feel comfortable enough to veer out and be able to convert their own favorite recipes to those being used with their KA stand mixers. The Martha Bakes series on PBS, with videos accessible online, are also a very good source of watching KA stand mixers at work. I would recommend that all users watch these videos before they start using the recipe book(s).

Absolutely wonderful!!!
Excellent book! I'm a new kitchen aid mixer owner and there is so much useful information in here. The recipes are "normal" everyday meals and easy to follow steps. Absolutely impressed with the Mixer Bible.

It’s okay but...
This is a nice book, but not what I ordered, and not what is pictured in this ad. The picture shows the 4th edition. I received the 3rd edition. I don’t know what to say. I’m trying to get my $17.99 back.Update: I managed to get a refund, & ordered it New from a different seller & received the correct edition. Please note that the used ones are previous editions, not the 4 Edition that’s pictured.

Knowing how and when to use an attachment, makes mixing a breeze
I am able to now use attachments. Recipes tell what attachment to use at correct speeds

great cookbook.
OK all of the recipes in this book do NOT use a mixer. However the recipes that do have a shaded bara t the top indicating what attachment it uses. Whisk, hook, juicer etc. But this book is better the the "kitchen aid brand books" because those books talk about all their product and focus on their food processor. This one focuses on cooking and also the mixer. The section on all the other attachment you csn get is awesome. Shws both the tilt head and raised bwl style of kitchen aid mixer and how to attach them. But many of the recipes themselves are ones I have searched for years for. They have everything from soup to bread to different ethnic dishes I only remember having my grand mom making. It has a little of everything Italian, German, polish, american, etc etc they even have a recipie for gnocchi. The hints they give with some of the recipies are priceless. Like boiling potatoes with skin on then peeling if making gnocchi...keeps potatoes from absorbing water so the. End product doesn't fall apart when you pot it in water later. Now I know what I did wrong the 3 times I tried to copy my family recipe.

Terrific cookbook for the Kitchenaid Mixer and attachments.
I purchased the "Mixer Bible" and have been spoiled. This cookbook has a pictorial section in the front showing the different Kitchenaid attachments and how to assemble and use them. Each recipe lists at the top of the page, what attachments will be needed. Ingredients like pasta, sausage or bread give the page number where the recipes are provided elsewhere in the book.It has delicious recipes that inspire the imagination. My family has loved the recipes that I've used so far. So many recipes, so little time... 😊
