Arrived on time, packaged well, and in great condition. This small business has earned your support. The title is accurate; the authors assume you are beyond the beginning/intermediate level, and structure the text accordingly.

I'm quite pleased with this book. Its unique approach makes it stand out in a very crowded field.First, be sure you understand that this book is very definitely not for beginners and even less so for dilettantes. You should be at something like 4th year university French level (maybe 3rd year in more intensive programs). You should have already covered, at least once if not twice, advanced French grammar concepts.That said, what makes the book special? Mme. Mazet focuses on the very issues in French grammar that even advanced students find troublesome. She has expertly selected those things which are important (not merely highly academic such as some of the obscure literary tenses) yet bothersome. I immediately appreciated some of the detailed description and instruction on usage issues, especially some of the less obvious "tricks and traps" in pronoun usage (just as one example).The book includes useful exercises with solutions. Don't skip doing them; they strongly reinforce your learning.The book is high on the practicality scale. Perhaps there are those who won't consider it advanced enough in that it doesn't deal with graduate level literary forms. If that's what you're looking for, get a copy of Le Bon Usage and learn all the details that ever were or ever will be. But if you already have a good background and strive for fluency, this is a great choice.

Good French Grammar book, but don't recommend it for early beginners.

I've always liked the French language.Being a native Portuguese speaker made me want to learn other Latin languages (except thr Spanish language, it doesn't sound that nice to Portuguese speakers).I've known how to speak since I was young, but never had gotten into grammar, therefore I couldn't formally speak or write it.

Good overview of more compilated French grammar. Excellent written exercises.

The French grammar book was more than adequate for my needs. I have a pretty good operating knowledge of French, but I was interested in a review of more advanced drills. It provides very good explanations, samples and exercises.

Book is very useful for review.

Highly recommended.
