Great tool for hobbyists and finding energy loss and savings.
I just picked the non-pro version up to use around the house for my projects and for work. I do energy conservation so I’m always identifying saving opportunities for poor insulation or missing insulation This is going to be an awesome tool for work. Comes with carrying case for keychain so you can take it everywhere. The compact size is similar to a key fob.Setup is plug and play on Android Samsung S20FE. Only issue is making sure you download the correct app. I tried “Thermal Master” first and it wouldn’t work. Ended up getting “Temp Master” which is the correct app after watching their video.I already found some issues with house insulation in master. Builder missed a square of insulation which is 5 degrees or more different.A cool feature of the app is it marks several spots with temperature readings for reference later. You can also choose different color gradients for visualization of the thermal imaging.I took the image of an exterior CMU wall and can see the convection heat from the metal studs.

Perfect for $200!
Soooo helpful!1. Found an air leak in my window (my bedroom was freezing).2. Proved my hot water heater wasn't working (insurance company didn't want to replace it after repair didn't work).3. You can find critters super easy and see if something's been there recently.4. Found a yellow jacket nest (they were super aggressive).5. You can see if someone got home recently or not (vehicle heat)6. The clarity is so so good! Really glad I spent all the time I did researching the best one in this price range! ($200 on sale)

Does not work - S25 Ultra or Pixel 9 Pro XL
What's to say? It doesn't work. Tried multiple Android phones, enabled more permissions than any thermal camera should need(this is seriously suspect), disabled VPN's, restarted phones, tried with and w/o OTG cables, dev options and OTG mode.

Tiny thermal camera attachment for your USB-C phone
It works, is clear and easy to use. Immediately found areas where I need to redo my insulation!A couple notes: The app asks for location data (Enables geotagging your photos), and your storage (Allows you to store your pictures) If you are concerned about giving the app access to your phone, your concerns are valid. OTOH you can also use the camera on a fire tablet with no meaningful data on it.

Excellent IR performance but software leaves much to be desired
I had low expectations given the price but this IR camera is a gem! It easily showed my "warm footprints" on the kitchen wood floor after I had walked in my socks on it. Very impressive. I'm using it mainly to inspect telescope cooldown, which is very important for providing good views. There are several areas where the software is lacking:- It demands excessively wide permissions. In this time of the need for more security, this is unacceptable.- Temperature readings are often incorrect till the calibration button is tapped. I discovered this by accident.- Temperature display sometimes just doesn't work until the app is restarted.- Even though it manages to save snapped pictures to my Photos, it warns every time about permissions with a popup- Sometimes a frame "freezes" and is superposed on top of the display. This doesn't go away till the camera is restarted.Overall this is an effective device. Were the software issues solved, I wouldn't hesitate in givie it 5 stars.

Best little IR camera for the price.
I'm a thermal engineer that often uses high quality and costly IR cameras ranging from. $10k to $300k. This little $200 camera attached to my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is easily as good as some of the $10k to $30k cameras we use at work. The free software App to operate it is very easy to use and navigate through the options. You can even change your emmisivity and ambient conditions for greater accuracy. I've never seen that as an option with cheap personal IR cameras before. There is also a nice selection of paletts to choose from as well based on your preferences or needs that allow you to get the thermal data you are looking for. I'm very impressed. The only thing I've noted as a negative at all is that it's much better Resolution several feet 9r more away than it is within a few feet of an object. But it does allow you to zoom so if you have the ability to move away from your subject and zoom in, you get better results than getting real close with no zoom.

Very good for the money
It works for around the house. I can clearly see missing insulation in walls, radian heating pipes.

Get it together
Really this thing is awesome,, but getting it setup on an android device is a pain in the ass. With no good direction i had the wrong app. I was near the end of the return time and reached out for help. I had the wrong app from the play store. They really need to revise the instructions that come with it to get you connected! I was very close to returning it.
