Q: will this work on a wall that has drywall and then concrete under it?

The nails are less than an inch long. I don't believe it would penetrate both the drywall and the underlying concrete.

Q: I bought this for a cement wall in the basement meaning no dry wall will it work?

I tried them on brick and they broke.

If you carefully pull them out they leave very small holes and most will cover easily by just painting the wall. These are so great.
