Such a fun board game! Different too...
It takes less than 5 minutes to learn and it's very fun, I love the idea of flicking pieces to other grounds and competing with other players and knocking out their buildings.I never seen another game with this gaming concept in real life! I play with my cousins every Sunday when they come over, also the dynamic with the power up cards adds a big difference and unexpected turn to the game.No missing pieces, and the quality is awesome, definitely worth the money! I would reccomend it

An unexpected home run with both the kids and the adults!
The media could not be loaded. I had no idea what to expect with this game as it's unlike any other "board game" we've played at our family get togethers. I actually got it specifically to play with my 9 year old nephew, knowing he would like the idea of fort building and destroying things. I knew he'd enjoy it but what I wasn't expecting is for all of the adults wanting to jump in and having just as much fun as the kids! This was an absolute smash and a now permanent fixture at our family get-togethers.Pixel Forts is actually more of a dexterity game than a board game. This isn't like checkers where you're just moving pieces around a board, you're actually using the pieces as both the defensive and offensive weapons. You start by setting up your primary fort piece on the board in the marked location. For a 2 player game you only use half of the 4 player board and there's even a special 3 player layout on the bottom side of the board. Once your home fort is in place you construct your actual fort layout using all of the remaining pieces using whatever stragety or layout you want. There's definitely some strategy involved as we found out that placing the pieces too close together limits your available shots and also makes it easier for one well placed piece to take out a huge portion of your fort.Once the pieces are in place you the game begins and you take turns flicking one of your fort pieces at another players forts to try to take out as many pieces as possible. Any pieces you knock off the board (completely off the board) become yours to use as a "currency" of sorts that you can use to purchase one of the special action cards. The game play is fun by itself but these special action cards add a huge element of fun. There's one where you can use your hand as a shield for a whole turn or drop a pixel from above the board in an air attack. It's truly a lot of fun.One of the best parts about this game for me was that the fun and enjoyment was spread across an even playing field. My adult male family members and I were impressed to find out that having more muscle and being able to flick the pixels harder than my 9 year old nephew didn't give us any competitive advantage at all. In fact, all it really did was hurt our fingers and send the pixel flying off in some crazy direction. In fact, one of the highlights of the evening was when my nephew had only one piece left and was about to be taken out of the game and on his very last turn hit his Dad's fort and knocked it off the board winning the game. The whole family went nuts.I can't say enough good things about Pixel Forts. Its simple rules and easy setup make it great for all ages but its intriguing and unique style of dexterity game make it fun enough for even the adults. It's $39.99 at the time of this review and in my opinion, it's worth every penny. This one is definitely a home run and a now permanent fixture at family get-togethers.

Incredibly Fun!
We loved this! My daughter continues to ask to play this once a week when she wants to spend time doing something fun.Think of this game as a hands-on 'Catan' where you trade resources for your fingers, lol!Everyone in our house loves this one, it's easy to learn and quick to play. The board and pieces are of good quality so we know it will last the 'rugged' gameplay.Worth the money. This is a great gift for that kid you don't know what to get something for!PS. Adults... With a few 'additional rules' this easily transforms into a hilarious drinking game... use your imagination!

Simple and fun, but mind the pieces while you play.
So "Pixel Forts" is clearly a game with more of a young-children and family-gaming appeal. It's pretty simple—the rules take up only a few pages of a very thin rulebook that's really more of a rule-leaflet, and the game consists of board, fort-pieces, and a deck of cards. It sells itself on being easy to learn, pick up, and play, so tabletop-gaming enthusiasts who enjoy more complex games should look elsewhere.Having said that, the only thing that really justifies the $50 price point in this case is looking to be the durability of the pieces and the quality of the board. And to be *honest,* I don't think it completely achieves that. I was tempted to dock this a star for that, but admittedly, tabletop gaming prices are all over the place these days and it's difficult to say with confidence that my measure of it is good. So just consider this an asterisk, I suppose.Still, I like the idea of it "Pixel Forts." It's just difficult to recommend a $50 board game like this one to anyone who isn't already sure that they and those they intend to play with are the correct audience. The store page is plenty informative enough about it for people to draw their own conclusions on that, if nothing else. So, thumbs up.

Fiendishly Fun Frolicking Flicking with Forts
Pixel Forts is a much better game than my husband and I ever expected. We got it for the kids, but they've yet to play it. Meanwhile, we have pieces flying all over the house while we're laughing. Go figure!Everything with the game is high-quality in construction and materials—from the board to the box to the pieces to the cards—and fully earns its $49.99 price tag. The board is two-sided, giving two or three players a more manageable playing field, and the rules are easy to learn. The mechanics, though, are another matter. It’s flicking. We’ve been pros at doing that since we were kids, but somehow, these pieces aren’t as easy to maneuver as they look. We missed more of our targets than we hit and often launched the pieces into the air when we thought they’d travel across the board. It’s a challenge, but it’s not a frustrating one; it simply makes the game more interesting. Will this be a family game we’ll all thoroughly enjoy? Most definitely. Will we play it often? Without a doubt.Do we intend to introduce our friends to it and make it a party game? No one will escape it.Seriously, this game is a blast. I can’t imagine a single kid will dislike it, and I’m certain most adults will enjoy feeling like kids again. We certainly did.
