The installation is easy. I like the built-in wire clamps. I hardwired the unit using 6 awg romex with a 60 amp circuit breaker as recommended by some online "experts". I found that the romex was getting a little too hot for my comfort. Maybe it's because I ran 40' of romex from the panel to the charger. I changed the breaker to 50 amp and now romex just gets a little warm. Charging is still very fast, especially compared to the 120v charger that came with the car.

Like many others, I had a failure of the Bluetooth/Wifi module. It connected initially and all went well for one day. After that it could never connect again. Despite contacting the company and using every online advice available none of the resetting procedures was of any help. It simply could not be found by any iPhone, iPad or android device available with or without any other Bluetooth devices connected. Despite the fact that I have a strong WiFi signal in the garage with multiple cameras working well. The router could never see the Chargepoint after day 1. The suggestion of setting up a guest network with only the Chargepoint on it is a sorry solution but still to no avail since no device could Bluetooth to the chargepoint to ever tell it to look for another network. Chargepoint was great, they just could not solve the problem and offered to replace the device. Unfortunately, that still leaves me out the cost of the installation and removal and does nothing for my confidence that a second unit would work. I decided to return the unit for a refund while still in the return period than try multiple units and get outside any return time. I have yet to see however, if I actually get the refund from Spreetail who was the seller. Their communication was great, the return paid for but it was unclear if they would refund the money or not. I will update if not as I do not want another device from Chargepoint after the disastrous experience with this charger. It is a nice looking charger and fit and finish were great. Too bad you cannot use any feature other than charging which is not acceptable for the most expensive unit you can find.
