Bluetoot diagnostic tool
There's a very small issue with this, and that's the Amazon barcode was stuck over the part of the box that explains you need to download the app, so if you didn't know this already you would think this was just a useless piece of plastic. The app is easy to download, connects via bluetooth to the device easily and quickly and the information appears to be accurate.I've not had a fault appear on my car yet but after having to pay a garage last time to discover it was just a "false alarm" this will come in handy in future.Well made, works well and pretty simple to use. I'm sure you could use it with various apps to increase its usability too.

Works as a generic OBD2 reader on Android, but iPhone app needs a lot of permissions and logins
I've made do with cheapy ELM327 bluetooth OBD readers, in conjunction with Torque Pro on Android, for a few years. When I've needed anything more in depth, I've used VCDS or ISTA-D.Thought I'd give this as a go, as the situation for iPhones always used to be more complicated in terms of Bluetooth support.Hooked up to an older iPhone SE (after having to carefully peel away the sticker covering the QR code), once you open the app you are nagged to sign in. There is an option to use a 'guest account' but it's seemingly wanting to submit a lot of information back to foreign servers, inc. car brand, model etc.I'm sure VINs etc. can probably be looked up on other databases, but for a simple scanning tool (bearing in mind there isn't outward coding on this), it seems invasive.Tested it with Torque Pro on Android and it works well there, but realistically, you'd only be buying this if you needed iPhone support/ an app.
