Night Owl 2-Way Audio 12 Channel DVR Video Home Security Camera System with (4) Wired 2K HD Indoor/Outdoor Deterrence Cameras and 1TB Hard Drive (Add up to 4 More Wired and 4 Wi-Fi Cameras)

We purchased a basic 4-camera Night Owl back in 2018 when it was on sale during Black Friday. We installed the basic system in our new home in February of 2019. The DVR in that system went out last month (4/2025) and I purchased a few different DVRs from Amazon. They were both Aneke brand and reviews stated that it was compatible with the Night Owl system. Well, that wasn’t what I experienced. We were left with a DVR that needed all new cameras, or keep my current cameras and buy another Night Owl, so we did the latter. I splurged on this system because of the reviews and I’m so glad I did! Literally plug and play! We did replace the current cameras with the ones in this set and kept the old ones for back up.I LOVE that we didn’t have to run all new wires for audio! The original wires were perfect and we will also keep the new wires as backups.Set up was so simple! I downloaded the NightOwl Protect app, and made an account. I deleted my previous NightOwl app as it was outdated for this system. There was a pretty simple walk through on setup. The only issue I had was trying to add a user to my account after setup. Only one person can create the account and other users have to be added (via email) to “share” this account. Trying to add a user was interesting and this took me the most time, honestly.ADDING A SHARED USER:Send your invite to your shared user (via email) and have them download the app and create an account. Once they have created their own account on the app, it should show up on their main menu. If it doesn’t… don’t waste 10 minutes like I did. Just “refresh” the page and it will instantly pop back up. Wish I knew that sooner!All in all, I love the quality of this camera. I love that it has two-way talk features without replacing any wires AT ALL! Highly recommend!

Great quality for its price. Clear imagine. User friendly which is a plus for me! Easy to navigate the system(playback, setup, etc) install is fairly easy also. Plug and play.

Camera only goes up or down when installed, can’t move camera to left or right.. doesn’t have wide view and to view on app, must have connected to internet box

The media could not be loaded. How this isn't 4.5-5 stars BLOWS my mind.I upgraded from a previous 2mp Night Owl setup and.......the difference is literally night and day......the 2 way audio was honestly just a bonus because I didn't realize they came with it so that's awesome because I will send a message to my fiance and see if she will actually catch it later lol because we are Always watching these things.We used to watch them all the time when they were slow and not great quality because we have an alley and when it gets warm.....the weirdos come out so always interesting to see what's up, but NOW........we're gonna have fun this summer with clear quality, streaming, audio......so excited.....Also the setup was beyond easy (already had previous NO so it was literally plug and play for me) and once DVR was plugged in it just automatically registered etc......not the same when I purchased before haha (years ago)The ONLY thing (which isn't a con I'm sure all cameras you have to do this) just make sure once they are all set and ready to record.....you adjust your sensitivity, recording areas of screen, notifications etc....very easy to do....you just have to do it otherwise you will be bombarded with notifications lol but once you set it up......BRO.......it's amazing lolThank you Night Owl you did a good job with these
