Buttery, rich. Dont let the size fool you
When I first got the cakes I was surprised to see the individual cake rather tiny. I mean tiny! As you can see in the photo, it’s actually smaller than a quarter! I should have compared it to a dime! But I did not let that deter me because if one weren’t enough, I can certainly use two. So upon rinsing the tea, Which is recommended for a cleaner flavor, I watched in amazement as the disc bloomed like a flower in heat. before my very eyes the tea leaves expanded and multiplied! I’m glad I didn’t use two! One disc was enough to make a 8 cup brew. The taste was oh... just buttery. I first used soy milk. with the soy milk it had a smooth undertone of butter flavor. By the third cup I ran out of soy milk so used regular cows milk. And golly this really did have the flavor of a good grass fed butter. Ideas washed upon me and the “science cook” in me started wondering, could I really use this to somehow infuse a nut milk to make a vegan butter? Anyway. Absolutely Lovely, lovely. May I swoon?!I gave the presentation four stars because it was a small bag which contained the tea discs, in a big bag. Not sure if this is to protect the tea? Maybe so. I thought it was wasteful.

No big deal
Not too bad, but not really good either. Has an aftertaste like a goldfish bowl smells.

Excellent, wonderful, full of flavor
I tried to capture the depth of color in the first brew. Anyhow, the mini cakes break up easily with your fingers. When the water was boiling, I poured some over to rinse the leaves and then I brewed for about 6-7 minutes. The first thing I notice is the aroma. It is just so earthy, a little sweet and a little woodsy. Wonderful! The first sip is smooth and satisfying. I fall more and more in love with Puerh tea with each upgraded purchase. If you like Puerh, this is an excellent addition to you collection. I previously bought an organic, slightly flavored, blah, blah, blah...this is SO MUCH BETTER. 100% recommend

Great rich flavour, excellent packaging.
I loved the cute paper wrapping inside the more airtight shiny bag. I am "new to Pu" but know my earthy black teas. The colour is deep and vital, the smell is mildly medicinal, and it goes down beautifully, even when cooled. There is a slight sea scent like matcha has (dimethyl sulfide) under the dominant earthy, woody, & salty sweet tones. The cakes are so well packed, I break them up into halves or thirds, and use ~1 cake/4 cups. This one is slightly less smoky than I personally wanted in a Pu-erh but I am not sure if that is a deterrent to you.

The best tasking mushroom and black tea soup I've ever had
Very strong earthy and mushroom notes. It was a little off putting at first but It really grew on me the more I drank of it.

Plain black tea
First of all, I received 19 and not 20 pieces. Secondly, this is not Pu'erh aged tea. It brews up like a good black tea but that is all. It is not rich and earthy like a wonderful cup of Pu'erh. Black tea. Definitely will not buy again.

So yummy and great packaging
Bought this for the health benefits I read about. This is my first time having puerh, and have had a cup for 3 days straight, I love it. Taste like a mild black tea. I read alot of ppl saying u need a tea strainer, I found that not to be necessary as the tea leaves are very large as they unfurl from the ball and just sit at the bottom of the cup. I find it to be a nice addition to the experience of tea time. I can make 2 decently 'strong' cups of tea from 1 ball. The second cup is more mild.
