my shimano stock hoods were still in good condition after 4 years, but i am excited to see some other color options! i can tell these hoods are a slightly bit softer because they were a little easier to put on. great value for the money to have a splash of color. handles well. i guess i'll need to ride it some to see how durable it will be!

** Update: initially hoods sat snug on shifters; now bloating, guessing vulnerability to oils. Removing 3 stars. Shifter hoods should not bloat or become floppy.Very little clear dish soap + water in palm > combine in hands > apply to entire body of shifters and inside of hoods > pull hoods on > wipe off outside of hoods and situate > allow to set.Mine started to tear on install without slick.

I was concerned about fit so I researched these fairly well. There seems to be so many variations of Shimano hood. I double and triple checked the claim it would fit my brake levers. I'm pleased to say that these were easier to put on than it was to take the old ones off.That said to take off the old ones I rolled off the hoods starting from the rear. It is tight but they will come off without tearing. Putting the new ones on was only a little more difficult than putting on a pair of socks. You will need to use your fingers to coax them along. Do not worry about the discoloration as you are putting them on.Once on they look and feel great.
