BNX seems to really have their act together. One of the biggest problems with a typical box of 6 filters is that the filters are bent or crushed before they go into the shipping box, or the box exactly fits snug around the filters - such that if there is any rough handling in shipping (and there usually is) then the filter perimeter paperboard (the frame) will become bent or even creased. If that happens, and the frame of the filter is flimsy to start with, then you can have serious issues.Considering the above - there are 2 very important points to look for from my perspective.1. Structural strength of the filter paperboard frame components (not the actual filter material so much) need to be as sturdy as you can get - in order to prevent bending, bowing, or any other shape that allows the flowing air to short circuit around the filter. In particular the paperboard perimeter framework is the most important piece to having a filter that is not flimsy. It is very simple to examine this by "feel". I have ordered from several providers at this point - and so far the BNX construction is by far the most sturdy that I have seen - this is very apparent upon holding one and flexing it a bit - but keep reading.2. The next requirement concerns how the filters are packed so that they cannot be easily "dented" with minor dings and collisions in transit. The first BNX shipment I received with (1) - 6 pack came in an OVERSIZED - and very sturdy cardboard box. There was not one crease or crinkle in any of the 6 filters when I opened it. The oversized box seems to work because if it takes a hit in shipment - the filters bundled up in plastic inside have room to be away from edges of the shipping box. I'm sure the bigger package is a cost factor - but, it's worth it. It is extremely important that the filters have no structural flaws.I have a new Trane Gas Package & it requires (Qty 2) - 18 x 20 x 1 nominal size. Actual size needs to be exactly 17.75" x 19.75" x 0.75". Also, 2 of these filters are needed, as that is how TRANE designed their filter tray arrangement - you slide one of the filters in on a U shaped metal channel tray until it touches the HVAC unit side wall - and then you slide another filter in until it butts against the first filter. Then you close the filter compartment door, and it seals with the side wall of the second filter. The filter dimensions are perfect and have no leakage between where the two butt together. Also, there is no leakage against the other edges against the HVAC unit. I have tried several other brands and none are as sturdy as these. So the size is perfect, and I do not think they will get sucked into the unit or bowed due to their above average structural integrity. As a side note, the actual filter size for this large TRANE unit is difficult to find .... so congratulations for BNX stocking this size.In conclusion - I just put the first 2 filters into my TRANE unit. So I cannot vouch for runtime at this moment. I will try to adjust this review as I continue to watch it's operation. However, the fact that the filters arrived in absolutely perfect condition, AND, they are the sturdiest I have ever seen gives me a lot of confidence that my battle for a filter vendor is over. I’m very pleased with this product. For 30 years I’ve been buying a much more expensive AC filter because I thought it was a better product. But those filters didn’t really fit the air intake vent in the ceiling. I had to cut the corners and bend the edge to force it into the space and close the vent screen. It wasn’t easy to do this standing on a ladder, especially as I got older. When the AC tech was here to do a yearly check he saw that I’d bent the filter and said there’s no standard size for a 14x20x1 filter. WHAT? i thought they were all that size! I was wrong.I picked this filter because of the good reviews and what looked like a slightly smaller size. Lo and behold the filter easily slid into the vent frame, an exact fit. Thrilling! I will buy these forever.

I don't know about most of you, but at times, it seems to be trying times, to find good, solid furnace filters. After having numerous HVAC service people at our home, servicing our AC and furnace, it's become apparent that the previous filters had too high of a MERV rating, thereby restricting airflow to the blower. That being said, I wanted to find a filter which would remove most allergen but also, allow the amount of airflow into the blower. I believe that I've found it with this particular filter. Yes, it's a MERV 8 and thus far, it's working just fine. The service techs have said that this one will work well for me (and perhaps many others who may be experiencing similar challenges. THus far, we're happy with our choice.PROS: Removes allergen but doesn't restrict as much airflow, made in the USACONS: None noted at the time of this writing

Good filters for a good price

The minute we put one of these filters in we noticed a great increase in good air flow. You could actually then feel the cool air from the air conditioner. I have only tried these with an air conditioner so not sure how they would work with heating systems. The air also seems to be cleaner and fresher and the house is less dusty. With our last filters I think it was blocking air flow and things around the house were getting very dusty. These work very well and they seem to be a great deal for the price! The filters we purchased are of great quality, the keep the airflow going, they keep our home with limited dust, the last a few months and help keep allergens to a limit helping me from getting sniffles. We love these filters and will keep ordering them in the future as they are the best!

We love this brand of filter especially for those with allergies. We replace our filters every 6 months because it traps a good amount of dust, allergens, etc. Great quality, worth the price.
