Nice device. The software on my Android gave me the details of the O2 sensors so I could tell the mechanic who wanted to replace them that they are not defective. That alone saved me the cost of a needless repair.

This item is great so far. I have used it on 3 cars and saved me from being scammed into work that is not needed. Packaging and direction were great. I aporeciate the small business and American made.

When reading through some of the reviews on this, there are a few that talk about connectivity issues, and I've discovered that it might not be the reader but the car. I drive an older Lexus that has some quirks that pop up every couple months and had gotten tired of crawling under the dash to plug in my old reader. Well, I started having connectivity issues and it annoyed me to the point I got out my old reader and plugged it in to clear the codes, well, I decided to just leave it plugged in as it usually quirks a couple days in a row and then goes away. That's when I noticed something, the reader was laying in the floorboard and I could see it as soon as I opened the door and it would power up as soon as I opened the door, before I touched the start button. So, I tried an experiment the last few days, I would start the app as I was walking toward the car, before I touched the car. Sure enough, it would connect every time without issue and work perfectly. I'm thinking that with newer cars that have proximity sensors tied to the key fob, the car does a different "power up" than older cars and this is what is causing the issues.

I was skeptical at first, but this tool has really pulled through. I didn't believe a wireless scanner could be that reliable, but it actually has an intuitive app and also some nice extra features to it.The main reason I got this was because my check engine light was on and I needed to turn it off for a SMOG check. I did some research online and they all said to get a scanner that can show you the emissions monitors and also read live data.Long story short, I was able to scan for codes and then find out that my catalytic converter wasn't working as well as it should be. Based on the live data, the O2 sensors weren't reading where they should. Luckily though they weren't too damaged, so I was able to erase the codes and drive around until all my monitors were completed. The moment I saw that last monitor turn green, I went straight to the SMOG check station and got it checked. I passed! I barely slipped by but now I can drive another year without having to worry about another SMOG check. I still have a bad catalytic convertor, but at least now I know, and this helped me save some money to fix it.

I figured this device would at least stay paired with the phone. You know how you get a $5 bluetooth speaker and you turn it off, turn it on, and it automatically connects? Not with this waste of cashSo you gotta plug it in, sit there for the sluggish app to find the device, pair the device, then input the vin/year make model EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.Also, I assume due to its hipster bluetooth functionality, your vehicle must be in accessory mode. I've never had any problems plugging my $15 autel on any of my three vehicles while they are running.I got this for road trips, interested in the live data so I could see exactly what my car is reading instead of going through a list of probabilities which causes a dummy light, throwing money at a problem.I haven't even had my CEL come on since I bought this, but I guarantee I would not reach for this pos - pull over, turn off my vehicle, sit on the side of the road for at least 180seconds, then continue down the road. It wouldn't be a waste of time, but dangerous bruh.I'd reach for my $15 scanner, and worst case scenario Google the code to find out the most popular cause.In conclusion, I would not recommend this. However if you like pitter-pattering, wasting time staring at your phone, for some reason havent memorized troubleshooting codes AND can't use google to lookup said code, I'd say this product is great for you. I mean live data works, and so does recording live data. But still, PITA. 1 star.

Works on 2018 Audi and other newer vehicles, clears codes as well. Mechanic husband uses it and was happy with it as a gift although he has other scanners. Worth buying. Easy setup

I have a BLCKTEC 430 that works great and so I bought this basic version (can only read engine code) for my mom because she recently had a check engine light on for her Camry.We don't live together, so without my help, she was able to follow the inscrutions and connect everything to the app. She said it scanned automatically and then gave her a report The scan report showed the error code P0131 and the layman's definition too, so now she knows that there is an issue with the oxygen sensor. I bought an oxygen sensor cleaner for less than $20 and came ove during the weekend and help her clean up the oxygen sensor. then i usee the BLCKTEC dongle to erase the code, then the check engline light went off, problem sovled. My mom loves this little device and keepts it in her glove box. Highly recommend.
