Premium Leather Seat Shooting Stick - Height Adjustable Walking Stick for Hard and Soft Ground in Town and Country

This is a lovely shooting stick and I honestly couldn't see why you'd need to spend more.It's well packaged on arrival and was sent quickly, so a good start.The seat, strap and shaft covering are all in the same leather, and it looks very nice. The strap is fully adjustable and can be carried by hand, over the shoulder or across your chest. I had no problem carrying this along with a shotgun and cartridge bag.The shaft can be adjusted to pre-set hols positions and stays in place with more confidence than "twist to lock" systems. By default it has a rubber ferrule at the end (to use as a walking stick). The end collar completely unscrews to reveal a spike, and a ring that normally lives on a thread near the top can be screwed over the spike to prevent it sinking into soft ground. The metal collar with the ferrule can be put over this when you don't need the spike (leaving the ring in place) or stored on the thread the ring came on.The seat is comfortable. I'm quite tall and heavy and found it perfectly comfortable (I'm over 100kg too).Overall it's excellent. Does the job, easy to use and looks like it will wear well.

There's too much space between the height adjustable holes so couldn't get a perfect height for me. The stick is really heavy, which makes it sturdy but not ideal to lug around. And the popper that holds the seat closed is very difficult to close and open. Some elements of this stick are really good quality. Others are really cheap quality. The height adjustment gaps are too wide. I have the skills and materials to modify the stick to meet my needs hence I'm happy-ish because it was relatively inexpensive. To be honest if you're a centimetre or two taller or shorter than me you might well be ok. So try it and return if it's not right for you.

Once the weather cleared up I was able to try this out around the local woods and was impressed. Once you get used to the seating position (feet spread to maintain balance) it is very comfortable, and stable enough to use while taking photographs. Other reviews have commented on the foot or disc loosening in use, what I found was that either, when fitted alone, stay in place, but if both are fitted together then the foot does tend to vibrate loose. Best option is to use the fitted screw section to store the unused one. Very happy with this item and am carrying it with me when out taking photographs around the local woods and footpaths.

Bought this a bit on spec for use at country fairs and for general walking on the streets as my bones age! It is clearly solidly made of good materials. The tip for use in fields can quickly be exchanged for a very substantial rubber tip for pavements. There is a handy place on the stick to screw on the tip not in use. The seat was comfortable while I ate my burger but remember to spread your feet a bit to give three points of balance! It also has a comfortable shoulder carry strap and if you hold it right, you don’t even know it’s there.

Basically a solid product it works as expected and is very good value for money. Didn't understand when ordered that there is a threaded stub just below the seat for storing either the rubber ferule or the metal anti sinking plate depending on which is attached. The strap is quite flimsy and the fittings at either end are not going to last long so I will likely replace these with something stronger.

Fantastic product I can actually sit down on my long walks while I go shooting.

This traditional style shooting /walking stick is surprisingly good quality for its price,It has a interchangeable rubber ferule which is ideal for walking with on hard terrain. You can also unscrew the ferule which reveal a sharp spike for softer ground, you will also find a 2 inch screw on metal plate, this can be found just below the leather folding seat. You can screw on the rubber ferule during the time you use the spike and plate.The seat opens out by unclipping the small leather fastening strap which is attached by a brass fastener, pulling down on the two handles reveals the seat which resembles a butterflys like fins for comfortable seating you can also find a heavy duty knob just under the seat which give you the ability to higher/lower the seat considerably to the desired height. The Construction is of a high grade metal alloy coupled with high end leather finish. This is an extremely well made shooting stick."The only downfall I found throughout the construction was the carry strap which I found flimsy around the pot riveted stoods which is connected to the adjustable belt/strap via the main central shaft, Its a very thin metal which is already come apart after sevral uses through putting on / over your shoulder, that's if you choose to carry it, if a stronger grade metal stood was used I wouldn't see anything going wrong with this product, like I mentioned above the main construction of the seat/stick is extreamly well made high grade leather with very good stitching work, I've seen walking stick/seats double the price of this product that is no where near the quality of the one on sale here today,

I am a birdwatcher and my knees start to ache when I stand looking for a long time. I bought this shooting stick in the hope that I would be more comfortable on holidays. I took my shooting stick with me on a wildlife holiday to the Caribbean and it was invaluable. The strap makes it fairly lightweight and easy to carry . When my knees started to ache I sat on my shooting stick and continued to watch the birds quite comfortably. It was also interesting to view the wildlife from a different angle. I will definitely be taking it on my next trip.
