Q: I notice that this recorder weighs 1.74kg. This appears to be more than other brands. Is this a particularly heavy instrument?

I've not played many different basses, but the Yamaha doesn't seem particularly heavy to me. Anyway, you have a neck-strap, so none of the weight is taken by your hands or arms. Unless you are splashing out on an expensive wooden instrument, this appears to be the most popular plastic bass . I recommend it.

Q: How do you wipe out the mouthpiece after playing when the cleaning rod supplied won't go round the knick bend?

My wife-Maz!- who has the Yamaha recorder- Model 302BII - says the recorder is jointed at the end of the mouth piece section so it is a straight line to the mouthpiece and the neck joint tube can be cleaned from either end. Hope that helps.

Q: Is this standard 440 pitch please rather than baroque pitch? Hopefully the ‘baroque’ in the description refers only to fingering. Thanks!

My wife, a music graduate and a member of a recorder group, tells me that this Yamaha YRB30211 is standard A440 pitch and standard fingering.
