Good for any hair type, but doesn’t smell the best. Would love a sandalwood scented version.
I have very fine hair, and my mustache isn’t the thickest. I assumed I would need a light hold wax and tried a couple, but the problems I had with the others I tried were that the mustache would lose its form after an hour or two. I think it may be partially due to how hot it gets here in Phoenix AZ.With this Fireman’s, the mustache ends for my slight handlebar/van dyke are held in place very well. I was worried it would look greasy, but it does not. I leave it in the car on the dash board so it’s warm when I’m leaving for work. I apply it, and the air conditioning in the car sets it very well. I might have to adjust the mustache about once every two hours or so, but I don’t often need to reapply it throughout the day. Maybe once if I’m particularly active.I will say it doesn’t smell very good. I can’t put my finger on what the scent is. It’s not a bad smell, but it’s not the best smell to be right under your nose all day. I use a very strong sandalwood beard balm to help balance it out and I have good luck with it. I would love a scented version. It’s definitely harder than the waxes I’ve tried, but it’s still plenty malleable if it’s not warmed up. I use a guitar pick to scrape out a small amount. I will say that if you apply it cold, a comb will come in handy. Applied cold, it seems to leave a few ‘crumbs’ of wax in the mustache that comb right out. Warm it up a little first. Doesn’t need to be a lot. Keep it in your pocket, or hit it with a hair dryer, or even leave it in the car like I do.You can definitely feel that there’s petroleum in it. It wipes off the fingers quite well, but you’ll be left with the most subtle tackiness on your fingertips for about 20 minutes. Very subtle. Almost feels like you just moisturized those fingers with something real thick.9/10. Would love a scented version.

Excellent mustache wax, apply using a hairdryer
Excellent wax. I find it very affordable. My mustache is white, so this colorless product works the best. It's easy to use. I heat it up with a hairdryer on low, use a guitar pick to scrape a bit out, rub it between my fingers, apply it to the mustache, and then form the 'stache the way I want. I wait five minutes, then comb through the mustache, again using a hairdryer on low. This wax gives me a good shape, that lasts all day. The combing through makes the mustache look more natural than it would look without it. A bit of reasoning here for the man using wax for the first time: you need a wax that is hard before application, because you want the mustache to hold a shape after you apply the product. I've tried products that are semi-solid before application; they don't hold as well as Firehouse Moustache Wax.

Holds well
I've been happy with Firehouse. My only complaint is that it needs to be sufficiently heated to soften the product before each use. Otherwise, it will clump up during application.

I wasted some time and money
I've been doing the Handlebar for about 5 months now. At the beginning I just picked-up some wax at the local drug store. Then I purchased another one here at Amazon. Next I tried some Firehouse and I was impressed! But you know... I was new. I figured, I may be on a roll. So why not try out more of the options, (and there are many as you know).I read reviews here and I'll tell you - they can be misleading sometimes. Women writing in about what their sometimes "inexperienced husbands" tell them. And that is not the way to do this; or men writing crazy stuff that you eventually find to not be true. Hey, a review is a review and apparently there's no way to control how truthful the comments are. Well, what you really need some days is authentic info from a knowledgeable horse's mouth. Not a bunch of silliness from a horse's a--.Anyway, I wasted some time and money, and finally after three of the other waxes and more frustration than a good man deserves, I just couldn't Wait to get a hold of another tin of Firehouse. I called up Amazon and told 'em I needed some Firehouse within 24 hours. Well, that's what I got - Firehouse, and it's Great! It is a hard-hold wax, and it keeps things where you want them to be. So if you're going for a stylish look, then get Firehouse. And if you're going for a handlebar don't be afraid of putting the curl in at the end. I've got one, and I can tell you that thing a "Chick Magnet." No kidding! And get yourself to Firehouse's website BTW, because they have some great info about their wax and some links to some excellent YouTube vids on how to take care of your Hot, new 'Stache! Good luck; have some fun; and get some Firehouse! (And no one paid me to write this damn thing either!!)

Flat works
Work in Ag and industrial environment and it holds all day with maybe a lil extra twist late in the day. Doesn’t require heat for application unlike some other heavy holds and washes out without a dedicated remover.

This is the STUFF!!
This stuff is frickin’ unbelievable. Super easy to work with and get into your stache, and the hold is killer!
