For more information on lyme disease's etc scroll down the page As we said quick action is need when removing a tick,we recommend using animal hospital tick removers as the design is especially formulated to remove the tick with as little stress on the tick as possible as stress may cause the tick to regurgitate its potentially infectious fluids back into the skin and its suspected this re flux is more harmful,so incorrect removal can cause this, you also don't want the ticks mouth parts left over after the tick has been removed, The animal hospital tick remover is specially formulated to avoid this by 1) use the right size remover from the two provided 2) Hook it length ways on the tick 3) Twist the tool two, three or four times till you feel a click (this is the ticks suction giving way) or the tick comes off, every time i have done this there has been a little click, but some other people report not feeling that but the tick still coming off very easily 4) Dispose of the tick

Simple but effective product
This product is a great design simple to use and very effective. There are two sizes in the packet for use on different size ticks. I have never removed a tick before so very apprehensive, but I followed the instructions and pop out it came. I would definitely recommend.

Excellent.
Excellent little tool. I removed 2 large ticks from the neck of a 12 month kitten in less than 2 mins. He's a little wild, so needed to be put in a wwe style headlock by my daughter. I carefully slid the tool underneath the abdomen of the tick, then rotated a few times.. I believe I felt a subtle click the moment the tick successfully detached from the cat's skin, and as both ticks were still moving when removed, I felt confident that I had done it correctly, and without pulling the head off the tick. (They were swiftly stamped on afterwards).Strongly recommend if you have cats or dogs that roam free in the long grass.. this simple item more than paid for itself in a couple of minutes.. our local vet charges £25 for a consultation. Couldn't be better.

Great
Super easy to use, got the tick out of my cat pretty much instantly. I struggled a bit beforehand trying to use gloves and tissue and pull it out with my hands and even tried tweezers but he would get too flustered and run off before I had any success. With this i removed the tick in a matter of seconds. He was by his food bowl, I spotted the tick, slipped it on and twisted and pulled and it came out super easily. He honestly didn't even have a chance to react. This is definitely something every animal owner should have. You never know when your pet comes homes with a tick, and this is honestly the absolute best and easiest way to remove them.

Grim task but needs to be done
Horrified to find an unwanted visitor on my lovely cat. He has been treated with a pesticide treatment but this blighter was stuck to him and sucking his blood for three days so we took him to the vet. The vet used this implement in a quick manoeuvre to remove the offending tick and charged us over £20 to do so. Quick search on Amazon and I find how cheap the tool is (and the pack is of two, a big one and a small one) with instructions on how to do the deed.Vet reckons that because it's a damp late spring this year, ticks are abundant. But they won't be sucking the blood of any of my cats. Honestly, all pet owners get this. Save you a fortune.

A must have if you live in the countryside
We live in West Sussex next to a lot of tall grass fields. Every time we go for a walk we take these with us. We often find tourists in Petworth Park panicking because they’ve got a tick on them and they don’t know how to get rid of it. These are simple and effective. Every household needs at least one of these if you live in an area where there are ticks.

Not great
The plastic seems rather thick so they don't grab the tick head fully. Had much better results with a thinner picker I bought years ago.

Effective
Great for taking out ticks from dogs as it hooks under the ticks body enabling a gentle pull to take their legs out too
