Great for HTC Vive lighthouses
Got this for mounting HTC Vive lighthouses (along with separate clamp mounts). Works great. Like many, I have the props upside down to get more usable height, since my clamp mounts would not attach to the thinner section (the silver bit, vs the black bit). There's a slight worry that a cat or clumsy human might hit the small flipper that releases them (note: NOT the big crank you can see on the side, which only jacks the height up and doesn't release anything; there's a much smaller flipper next to it), but the flipper is quite hard to to press, even intentionally, and can be placed on the wall side to minimise risk. While obviously not designed for the Vive lighthouses, these do a great job and I can see why they are recommended for people who don't want to drill into walls. Stability is solid, they're trivial to set up, easy to move, and take up almost no floor space (unlike tripods).

A real bargain for what I needed it to do.
Used it within the hour. I'm converting a campervan and using this to lift the roof boards and it makes it easy whereas before I struggled to line up the fixings due to the weight, size and floppiness of the boards. I could see this being used for ceiling plasterboard and anything large and unwieldy that needs to be lifted into place.Very pleased with how easy to raise it too. One is to lift the main inner until it clicks into lug holes in the outer then a trigger action for adjusting the final height.Made my task a lot easier. Great for around £12.50.After more use it would be better if it had a trigger release in stages like for raising as it just drops to closed when released and cannot be adjusted for a lower height without starting from scratch. Still a good tool and saved me much frustration.

Does the job very well
An excellent product. Surprisingly sturdy, I’m using it for 20kg MDF sheets, does the job very well. Stable, easy to use, holds the boards in place while I adjust them & screw them into place. A very good tool

They are telescopic and fairly sturdy well build items
After a large crack appeared in the ceiling in our kitchen I needed a quick temporary solution to keep it in place before we could get it repaired. I found these after a quick search on Amazon and after some helpful feedback in the questions area I opted to buy these. They are telescopic and fairly sturdy well build items. They have a rubber foot on either end to provide stable grip on the floor surface and also the roof surface. Something which is welcome when using it to hold up boards when doing your ceiling. They have a nice quick release mechanism which allows you to collapse the prop quick quickly and the grip provides a pump style mechanism that allows you to add pressure to the prop to enable it to stay firmly in place and pressed against the floor and ceiling. When extended to their full height they obviously lose a little bit of rigidity but that is to be expected. I think under heavy load they may begin to bow when fully extended but I think the idea would be to buy more than one in order to distribute the load evenly.

Good bit of kit
Handles can snap if dropped

Excellect quality.
Well made, very heavy and seems like it would support more than the suggested 30 kg. All the important parts are made from metal apart from the clamp on the main telescopic pole but this section also has quick release catches in the form of two metal spring loaded pins in the shafts so the plastic clamp really doesn't matter as you can do the last length adjustment from the upper section whicheck is jacked out with a metal mechanism.I bought it to replace the pole that came with my laser level which finally broke after years of work and the only issue I had was that the diameter of the upper part of this prop that is jacked out is very small, too small to clamp my laser to - however just turn the pole upsidedown clamp to the thicker end and problems solved.

Pole seems ok, mine arrived damaged, unhappy with Amazons procedures
The product itself is ok, i'm giving this review 1 star because one small part arrived damaged yet i have to return the whole thing to get it put right. The current way Amazon (who sell this item) have their systems set up is that we are unable to request a replacement part or even leave a message, the only option is to wrap it back up again, return the whole item and order another one.All it needs is a couple of pieces of plastic worth a few pence. So yeah the pole is sturdy and will do the job of holding some cameras, its just a shame mine is incomplete now
