Fantastic walkaround lens
I've been debating about a new prime lens for my Fuji cameras for a while now, but what focal length, to choose: 23mm, or 27mm? There are many choices of manual focus lenses for the Fuji X mount, but I like my auto focus lenses. When I found that TT Artisans had produced a compact 27mm auto focus lens at an affordable price, I bought it as soon as it became available.Let's get the negatives out of the way first, it doesn't handle flare very well, the aperture ring can be fiddly as there are only two knurled places to adjust the aperture, and the lens is not waterproof. All very minor irritations, simply overcome, don't take the lens out in the rain, or point it at the sun!!The lens itself is compact, lightweight, and the build quality is of a decent all metal construction. Being as tiny as it is the lens is ideal for the smaller Fuji bodies, the X-A10, X-E1, 2, 3, 4, and the X-T10, 20, 30 for use as a street, or travel lens. I wanted the lens for my Fuji X-T20, to be used as a "walk about" travel lens, the 27mm focal length equates to approximately 40mm in full frame terms.Performance wise the lens offers very good image quality, just look at the detail on the quayside mooring bollard, this is a JPEG image shot wide open at f/2.8. The ornamental bird taken again wide open at f/2.8, ISO 1000 indoors, without flash, and the bokeh is fine. The auto focus is marginally slower than some of my other "fast" Fuji primes, but the face / eye detect seems to work well. The front lens cap is very tiny, easy to lose, however the rear lens cap has contacts, and a USB-C port to enable updating the lens, what a great idea. The lens is an absolute gem, a real bargain at the price, and I am very pleased with the performance. Definitely recommended, well done TT Artisans.

Great lens for the price
The lens is great for portability and image quality.Focus is sharp, F2.8 produces great images on a wide range of lighting conditions. It has 2 noticeable weak points that have been mentioned by other reviewers as well.1. Vignetting in low light.2. Flare effects.Example of both in the picture attached.Still, for this price is a great lens. I like it.

Excellent at the price, indeed, at any price.
The performance of the lens is good, maybe not as good as a major brand, but to my eye honestly there's no appreciable difference. The lens is not bulky which means that I can keep my Fujifilm X-2 in a jacket pocket and have it always ready to use. The only downside, a minor one, is that the lens cap is fiddly to take off quickly. For the price it is a remarkable bargain: it feels very solid, looks good, and does the job at a fraction of Fuji's own lens.

Has it's flaws, but it's totally worth it.
Bourght this as i couldnt decide between the Fuji 35mm & 23mm. 27mm seems to be exactly what i'm after. 40mm equavalient which is what i'm used to coming from a Trip 35. Supreme image quality BUT vingette is present throughout the image. It's worse wide open at 2.8 and so is the distortion. You get these weird round distortions round the edge of the photo similar to a fisheye but without that super wide depth of field. Personally i love it, i think it works with my style of photography so i'm really not complaining. AF can play up sometimes so i tend to shoot manual and us Instant AF-L on my ex-2. AF-C is really where the problems lie. It will try to refocus again and again and again (continuously) on what you point it at. Whilst the Fuji lenses will see that the target is in focus and sit ready to focus on the next target prompted by the shooter. But for £180? I'll let it slide. If you want perfection then go spend £400+ on the Fuji 27mm. But i've also heard that isn't perfect either! You need to weigh up your options, look at the issues people have metioned and ask yourself if you could live with them. I will continue to use this as my primary lens and come back with a long term review in due course.

Excellent budget lens and perfect for Fuji Recipes
Having seen a number of reviews on YouTube about the lens, I thought I would take a chance and try one.The centre sharpness on the lens is impressive from the initial F2.8, which makes it an ideal lens for lower light conditions. The vignette on the lens adds a vintage old film vibe and when used with some of the many Fuji Film recipes you can really capture some great images, you can always correct the vignette in post if its something you don't like.Good value when compared the hard to find Fuji 27mm Pancake

A cracker of a lens
I bought this lens, for my Fujifilm X-T5, with some trepidation. I need not have worried though - it's a cracker of a lens. Tiny, lightweight, super-sharp, autofocus and inexpensive... what's not to like. If you're after a fast prime lens for "street" or landscape, that fits in your pocket, this TT Artisans lens is a no-brainer.

Very good.
Does everything it's supposed to: good, fast auto focus, excellent image quality between 4-11mm. It's updateable, well built and a very good price.
