Quality LED Light
♦ Introduction ♦I like to produce videos when I can to upload to YouTube or videos to go alongside my reviews on Amazon and have already invested in a couple video lights; however the issue I have is that I can't move them, let alone take them down without much hassle (I dread to think putting them back up), so I decided to purchase one that seems of decent quality and portable. I have owned several products from Neewer in the past which had mostly been decent in quality.First impressions were great as everything was packed neatly within a soft case (hard case would have been more ideal though); and the overall build quality of the main unit felt robust with the aluminium alloy exterior (not just the U-Bracket, but the casing of the light itself).♦ Box Contents & Optional Extras ♦- Box Contents:∙ Soft case.∙ Main unit (LED light with U-Bracket. barn doors & diffuser pre-attached).∙ AC Adaptor.∙ Power Cable.∙ Instruction manual.- Optional Extras:∙ Neewer Light Stand (Budget price).∙ Manfrotto Light Stand (Premium price).∙ Neewer 2600mAh NP-F550/570/530 Replacement Battery+Dual Charger (Use on the go).I personally own the Manfrotto light stand and can vouch that it's a very stable and decent quality product. I also have purchased the dual rechargeable batteries which work a treat if you want portability.♦ In-Use ♦This light can be mounted on a light stand, or if the U-bracket is taken off, there are 1/4" tripod threads on both sides of the lighting unit.- Barn Doors:The barn doors are detachable from the main unit via a Flathead screw in each corner. The doors can be fully folded in or out giving you decent adjustability/shape of your light.- Light Diffuser Insert:There is a tab on either side of the light that can be pushed down to allow space for the diffuser insert to be removed in need be. When you first use this product, the diffuser HAS to be taken out as there is a protective layer of film that needs to be removed.- U-Bracket:There is a wing screws on each side of this bracket which allows you to readjust the angle of the light itself. Once in the angle and the screws tightened, it really does keep it's position. One thing to bare in mind is that with the barn doors on, you cannot angle the light downwards; it can only be dead on. Adjusting the angle upwards is no issue with the barn doors attached.- Power Cable:The cable length is 2.4m which is okay, but for my needs I needed an extension cable when using it via the mains. The cable is split in two with the AC adaptor basically being in the middle which does result it hanging, luckily there isn't too much tension on the joint of the plug going into the light.- Powering & Brightness/Colour Adjustment:On there rear panel of the light you have a button which by default is set in the middle (Power Off); flicking it to the left will draw power from the batteries if you have purchased them, or can be switched to the right to use the power from the mains. There are two adjustment dials for the LED lights: One for the white LED's and the other for Yellow LED's. You individually adjust these to your desire or combine them for more brightness and a colour of light slightly between. This light is very simple to use and the brightness that can be achieved is also very good; well for my needs anyway.♦ Final Thoughts ♦This is undoubtedly a good choice if you're looking for lighting: It's feels very well built; it's easy to use and can achieve decent amount of brightness. The optional purchase of rechargeable batteries makes this light more portable which is going to be very handy for me too.So far I'm happy with the results and will update in the future should any issues arise.

Very impressive
As a long time commercial studio photographer I have used a lot of lights. The Neewer stuff is generally inexpensive (I choose not to use the word 'cheap'...) very well put together - also intelligently designed by professionals who clearly know about light rigging. They are also insanely feature rich at this price point. On these, you can not only ramp the Kelvin levels (warm/cold) up and down with very fine control, but also the G/M balance - on a budget light! The big takeaway form this review in terms of the light output is that this new LED matrix design is BRIGHT to levels which put it in league with professional lights which are a LOT more money. FYI: This is 4 times (2 stops, metered) brighter than their 18.3" flat panel LED light - so probably the better buy if you can get it on discount days.In case you haven't spotted it, Neewer also make a neat, small soft box [NS6S} that specifically fits this light. Bargain cheap - worth the money. As they say: "I would give it 6 stars if I could".

Brilliant little light
I've been using LED studio lights since they first came out and have owned quite a range from very very expensive - and quite unreliable - American made units to very cheap - and very reliable - Chinese made units. These new lights from Neewer are among the best I've owned and I'll be buying more.Things I like and don't like -Likes -- Sturdy construction- Very bright- Smooth RGB range- Easy to use phone app- Good carrying bagDislikes -- Quite small- Most of the special effects are not very goodTo give a bit more detail... the construction seems to be very rugged, being largely made of metal I would expect them to take quite a lot of rough treatment (not that I'm going to do that). The maximum brightness is very good for such a small light and the colours, both the white colour temperatures and the RGB colours, are accurate and are smoothly variable both in saturation and intensity. Having a CRI of 97 they can give very nice skin tones. The phone app is easy to install and the lights connect quickly and respond well.On the negative side, the unit is very small, too small to give a soft, flattering effect. Neewer do make a soft box but I haven't tried it yet. I am concerned that too much light would be lost with the softbox and there wouldn't be enough power for anything other than the smallest sets. Neewer do make a larger unit, the 960, but it has a very strange ball and socket mount that reviewers don't seem to like. The only other things I'm not too impressed by are most of the special effects. some of them are too repetitive and have no speed control which makes them pretty useless. A few years ago I wouldn't have thought this was an issue and I laughed at the range of special effects available on a Rotolight I'd just bought - but then I used some of them on the very first job I took it on!In general, these are very good lights and I will be buying more. They're ideal where space is an issue or where you need a colour effect in the background or a coloured rim-light, for example.I'll also try the softbox and if it doesn't reduce the usable power too much it'll make them very, very good lights!
