Best caviar I've had
I'm no caviar expert, the the flavor of this is absolutely fantastic. Only slightly briny, with the predominant flavors being buttery and umami. I normally eat my occasional caviar just a little at a time, but this one paired so well with the sake I was drinking that I finished the whole ounce at a sitting. I don't normally say this, but this caviar was actually worth the price. I'm sitting here in bliss. New favorite.

If you're wanting to splurge on caviar, this isn't it.
Came in a jar not the tin in picture or description. Arrived two days after the GTD delivery date. Chil-paks still seemed cool, so I don't think the poor quality of product was because of the delay - but will never buy this again. Mild to the point of no taste at all - no nutty or buttery flavors, and barely any salinity. Mushy throughout - not a single pop. Romanoff Black Lumpfish garnish caviar is better tasting than this at 20% the price. Very disappointing.UPDATE: Marky's Customer Service responded to our shipping issue and resolved the matter nicely. Our review of the product stays the same, but I really respect that Marky's was so responsive. Thank you.

Very tasty
I bought this and some Bellinis and crème fraiche and a gold spoon for my nephews birthday- he is gen z and freaked out about “fish eggs” lol but he and his friends loved this with champagne. Nice introduction to something new.

Fine Product and Delivery
When I was a kid in the late 1970's, my parents used to have lavish dinner parties for my Dad's investors. I was about 10 when I tried caviar the first time. I _liked_ it!The Russian sevruga of those days had a better texture than this. They "popped" when you bit into an individual egg. These are more "melt on your togue". This product is very well processed and clean. Overnight shipping in ice save this delicate product from ruin. Two days in and I have eaten it all.

Meh (but maybe that's just how I feel about caviar).
I write this review acknowledging that I know very little about caviar and have purchased two jars lifetime, this being the most expensive. My review is intended as an "everyman" reaction to eating the biggest batch of caviar I've been privileged to enjoy. According to what I read, this particular species is only one notch behind beluga, and the brand is about as highly-regarded as any other non-beluga type or brand. I'm coming to the conclusion that caviar just ain't all that, best I can tell. I would've rated this particular batch as two-star, as the product was initially less unctuous than I had expected, only very lightly flavored (in a good way, but reminding me a little bit of canned kipper snacks only fainter in flavor). As I worked my way down the jar, the product became more unctuous and flavorful, with a hint of gooey free liquid among the eggs, compared to the top of the jar where the eggs were dry. For the last third of the jar, I'd say the product was four star, so the review score seeks to split the difference. The best of the several ways in which I ate the caviar was on a bilini slathered w/ creme fraiche, draped w/ a small swatch of Scottish smoked salmon, all of which was topped with a blob of the caviar from the bottom of the jar. The caviar then was more a condiment than a dish, but greatly enhanced the flavor of the salmon and helped generate a delicious bite.
