Works better than sling from surgeon
I had rotator cuff surgery. Sling from surgeon had plastic rings with 3 straps on each ring. It was extremely uncomfortable and difficult to adjust. So I purchased this one. It works much better. However, it your surgery involved shoulder blade, this might not be the sling for you. The strap goes diagonally across the shoulder blade. Other than that, this sling is great.

Best sling for the money
Hands down the best sling for the money. The body pad/wedge is attached to the sling by velcro and can be removed very easily by pulling it off which is very convenient for me while driving so I can sit more comfortably. Shoulder pad is comfortable and can also be removed for wearing a shirt with a collar. The storage pocket is very convenient as well. I put my phone in there while going on walks and its easy to access for controlling my songs and music volume. The sling itself is comfortable enough. I actually lined the inside of it with 1/2" layer of orthopedic felt for more comfort due to my sensitive nerves while awaiting my surgery. The "one size fits all" works out but for me, the sling could be a bit longer and I think it would be nice if they offered it in different sizes such as small, medium, large, and extra large. Overall great sling for the money and I am very happy with it.

Mac Daddy of Slings
Bought this to use after I had surgery a month ago to remove my Scalene and Pec Minor muscles on my right side. It’s fabulous!1) the adjustable waistband attaches to the actual sling (pouch) that your arm rests in by Velcro and has really helped me to resist (literally) the urge to use my right (dominant) arm for even little things because it keeps my arm stuck to my side. If I was using one of thos crappy blue slings the hospital gives you, I would still have the mobility to move my arm to reach up and open a door or talk on my phone, ie. With this sling it stays securely velcroed to the waistband support.2) there are pockets inside of the sling pouch for you to slide your phone, credit card, chapstick, etc so they are easy to reach and you can skip using a purse or avoid using your right back pocket (that’s where my phone usually goes).3) every single strap is adjustable on both sides that it attaches to the sling so you really can make sure it is completely comfortable for your body and whatever clothes you are wearing.4) the grip ball comes out so you don’t have to wear it if you think it’s bulky.5) the waistband support block and padded should strap features make it so there is virtually ZERO pressure on your shoulders. In the past I have used slings and after walking around, my arm doesn’t hurt but my back, shoulders and neck and dying. Not with this one!! It truly supports everything. I need it now more than ever since I had practically all of my best muscles removed.6) I am now back to work and do a lot of computer work. I’ve been able to re position the waistband block and sling so that I use it to support my arm in my chair while using my mouse on a slide out keyboard tray while still keeping my arm strapped/velcroed in so I don’t risk inadvertently reaching for something that might re-injure it.The only thing that could make it better is if it came in more colors but I do realize that’s kind of silly so I’m giving it 5 stars.

Works
More comfortable than the one the hospital gave me. I was able to modify the abduction pillow to fit me comfortably and the adjustable velcro straps allowed for adjusting to comfortable positions. Recommend

A complicated sling set that’s not for everyone
We bought the VIVE sling set to replace a basic sling, issued at the ER, that was too large and did not keep the arm in place well. The patient has a fractured shoulder, which is very painful. The VIVE sling itself did a good job of supporting the forearm and keeping it stable. But the pain relief arm pillow and it’s Velcro strap were an extra complication, and the black color made it very hard to see what we were doing when trying to install it and adjust it. At the end of a week in that sling, at the first visit to our orthopedist, we were told that the sling — any sling — was the wrong way to support the broken shoulder. He provided a cuff and collar attanfement that is simpler and he says better for this kind of injury.
