These are good knee patches for all the holes my husband has worn into his pants. They say iron on but you're going to want to iron on and sew them. If you are only using them for light work and minimal wear and tear they're fine but most people who buy these pant's in the first place and need the patches are not so if you want it to stay iron it on first then sew it on just to be safe.

I bought these to repair holes in my Carhardt coveralls, I spent about 45 minutes on something that should have only taken 10 minutes and the patches [ I tried several times], never stuck, I wish I had my time back, do yourself a favor, buy another brand, even if the colors don't match. Save your time and money.

They don't stay on very long unfortunately. I do quite a bit of crawling at work so this may have something to do with that.

I fixed the holes in the knees of my husband's work pants. They would not have stayed very long just ironed on, but the iron on feature helped hold it securely in place while I zigzagged with my sewing machine around the edge of the patch. This provided a nice strong, permanent patch that hasn't torn again yet some months later.

The only thing to understand is that there really isn’t any designated “gripping side”. All four sides are kinda sharp, for function. Not really a problem, but something to think about when buying. Good value. I’m good.
