I bought these as a substitute for elanen naturals which are out of stock. They just didnt do the same job on my mood and I had heart palpitations which I could only attribute to this. I did some arduous research of ingredients and the only difference I see is that this one has licorice root and rhizome and the elanen had only the root. I know licorice is an ingredient that can cause high bp and palpitations if not deglyrricerized. Turns out the rhizome contains the glycyrrhin <sp?> which is the problem ingredient. My palpitations stopped when I stopped taking. I only took 1 pill for this to happen each day and the suggested dose is 6 pills a day just like the elanen. I never used this much of either; only 1 to 2 pills. More will cause sleepiness. I weigh 125. I add this on to another mood supplement I don't thimk this formula is enough alone at the low dose to avoid sleepiness. Bottom line. Buyer beware. People can die from regular licorice candy overdose at high quantities and this is a concentrated ingredient. They should use DGL, deglycyrrhized licorice or try just the root. This is a preliminary investigation I did not submit to lab for analysis of course.
