Easy to plant
This makes gardening easy to do. This is durable and made sturdy and well. This is a digger that takes the guesswork out of planting bulb roots like my tulips and Lily’s. The handle is long so there’s no back breaking bending. It’s lightweight and stores easily. Great choice and affordable. Works well.

Good but learning curve
Works and seems study but two BIG buts..... 1. the directions state it is easy to weld if needs repair. So I need a few hundred dollar welder to fix is $39 garden tool??? 2. It does work but needs just the right soil and has a learning curve. Hard, dry soil the tool will not dig into easily, or if you work at it long enough the tool won't pick up the loose dusty soil. Wet, sticky soil like clay, the tool won't let go. Just right moist soil, the tool sometimes picks up fine, but usually needs a little help. It turns out once you twist the tool into the desired depth you can give the release handle labeled A a light stomp to compact the dirt and stretch the spring opening "C" to hold the dirt. Usually works fine except after planting about 100 bulbs "A" is noticeably bent which makes me wonder how long it will be before problem 1 comes up. Otherwise tool is OK. Also, only digs a 3-4" deep hole due to the location of handle "B" hitting the ground.

Made Spring Planting So Much Easier (And Saved My Knees)
The media could not be loaded. I picked this up mainly for planting bulbs, but I ended up using it for way more than I expected. The first weekend I took it out, I got through planting two bags of daffodils and a tray of irises in record time—and without that usual lower back ache I get from crouching. Once I got the hang of the step-twist-pull motion, it was oddly satisfying. I didn’t need to scoop out soil with my hands or sit on the cold ground like I used to.The release pedal actually works better than I thought it would—it pops the dirt right out without me needing to dig it out with a stick or bang it on the ground like I’ve done with other planters. I also used it to weed out a few stubborn dandelions, and it pulled them right up with the roots intact. I wasn’t planning on using it for weeding, but now it’s my go-to when I’m walking around the yard. It’s lightweight but sturdy and definitely doesn’t feel flimsy like some of the cheaper ones I’ve tried. I’ve used it for digging test patches in the yard too, trying to figure out why one spot won’t grow grass. The sampler part has already come in handy.I’m honestly thinking about getting a second one to keep at my mom’s place—she still loves planting but can’t be kneeling for long. This lets you do so much standing up, and it’s a lot more fun than dragging around five different tools.

5-in-1 Lawn and Garden Tool
This item's sturdy workmanship and well-considered design left an impression on me. One of the most notable features is the long handle, which enables me to work without putting pressure on either my back or my knees. This is a big benefit for anybody who spends a large amount of time doing gardening tasks. Because it is ergonomically constructed, the handle offers a pleasant grip, which reduces the amount of fatigue experienced during extended usage. Making use of the gadget was a cakewalk. The process of drilling holes for planting bulbs was one that I found to be especially beneficial. The pointed end is able to easily penetrate the dirt, and the long handle offers tremendous leverage, which makes the operation far simpler than it would be if it were performed with a conventional hand trowel. In addition, the soil sampler feature is quite useful since it enables me to evaluate the quality of the soil without having to disrupt a wide area. I believe that gardeners who are particularly concerned about the health of the soil will find this feature to be extremely helpful.

Doesn't do the job
Got this to get grass plugs out to reuse after we have septic work done. St Augustine grass. The description says it's made to use for this purpose. Nope. Not only is it not sharp enough to dig into grass without using brute strength and even then it takes more than one attempt, but it doesn't dig deep enough and doesn't pull out a whole plug. Basically, it would be fine for planting flowers in a bed....that's it, though. Returning. If you need to dig sod plugs, rent something from local nursery or buy a heavier duty tool.
