Q: My room mate works as a picker for a Brass company. Will this knife hold up as a everyday kife and will it losen up? Please get back to me.

I would not recommend this knife. It has no steel liners and the blade is only held by the plastic handle, this caused a lot of blade play over time . Buck has very good products but this one is not one of them. Spend $10 more and get something better.

It's because you have to pay attention who's selling the product. Not everything sold on Amazon is from Amazon. For best customer support always buy your products that are both fulfilled and shipped from Amazon, and avoid stuff shipped from overseas (such as Japan or China), individuals, or independent store fronts....unless you really, really want or need it. Always a good idea to click the other sellers link and pick the one that's both processed and shipping directly from Amazon themselves.

Q: I realize my hand strength isn't what it once was, but is it common to need pliers to engage the lockback to close the knife??

No, that should not be the case. I purchased this knife for my 14 year old daughter. She hikes, camps, fishes and hunts with me. She weighs 120 pounds and has no issue opening and closing the knife.

Q: Is the black Bantam BHW made in the USA?

Buck USA is a USA company so stamping that on it does not mean it’s MADE in the USA. Some Bucks are imported, others the parts are imported but the are ASSEMBLED in the USA, and others are manufactured and assembled in the USA. Look for the American flag on the box for the third category and check the language used carefully.
