Worked perfectly for our hydrant
I have an older "frost free" hydrant that will still freeze over if temps get below 10 degrees. We have to water livestock daily and carrying 5 gallon buckets from the house to the field is not an option! This worked perfectly this past week with 10 degrees and lower temps all week we even had 1 night -15 degrees and we didn't lose water access.I highly recommend. It has a lighted plug so you know for certain that the heat tape is getting power and working properly!

Steady so far
So far so good. I've only had it installed and operating for one week, but I did check it to make sure the temperature was holding steady and not too hot. Everything looks good so far.

Great for our well pump
We had an issue with our well pump freezing on cold days. This seems to have fixed the problem. It was easy to use and definitely worth the cost.

Fixed my issue - prevents heating oil from gelling in the line
My workshop has a heater with an outdoor fuel tank. When temps dip to single digits or negatives it would stop working. The heater couldn’t pull the cold oil in through the lines. This heat coil thing tapes onto the fuel line and then you can cover it with a pipe insulator. Haven’t had a problem with my heater getting fuel since.

Works as designed for my use
I bought two of these in different lengths to hopefully keep outside lengths of potable water hose from freezing. One hose runs from an outside hose bib on my house into a valve which feeds an underground PEX run. The other hose connects the PEX where it comes out of the ground into a travel trailer city water inlet. The travel trailer sees winter use so I wanted to keep the water flowing. I live in Fayetteville NC so bitter bouts of cold are not typical here but there are times when the outside temperature will not get above freezing for a few days.I attached this product to my hoses using a specialized heating cable application tape (Easy Heat HCA 30-Foot by 1/2-Inch Cold Weather Valve and Pipe Heating Cable Application Tape) which I bought here on Amazon. I then wrapped the hoses and heating cable with self sealing outdoor rated foam rubber insulation (like foam noodles that people use in pools but these are rated for outdoor pipe insulation). The plug ends of these cables have what I'm guessing is a small neon bulb that lights to indicate that the system has power applied. This is a useful benefit to visually verify that power is applied to the system. I find this feature very valuable, although I didn't think much of it when I was purchasing these items. The past couple of weeks have been exceptionally cold (for my location). Low temperatures at night have been below 20F and there have been a few days where the high temperature has not approached freezing. I have to say that these things work. The travel trailer had continuous flowing water through the hoses that are heated with this product. The travel trailer has a propane furnace that keeps the baseline temperature comfortable so the interior PEX plumbing is not an issue. For the outdoor supply lines though, these are working well.I have seen questions as to whether these products can be used with flexible hoses such as garden hoses instead of only being useful for copper, PVC, CPVC, etc. So far, the products have presented no problem with the application on the water hoses. As other reviews and questions mention, my hoses are always water filled.
