MUST HAVE FOR LONG HOT GRILLING
This fit my Weber Kettle perfectly, and I really like the charcoal containment ring; I ise slightly less charcoal, and it burns better in the confinement of the ring.. I do a lot of whole grilled chicken, especially beer can on a special cast iron skillet. Previously I used aluminum foil turkey pans for heat deflectors in the center of the grill, but this makes the process so much neater to manage with a better final result. Radiant heat from the ipper steel deflector seems to be very even, and convection heat from the edges allows smoke up around the grill and maintains temperature with the cover on. The chickens are cooking great, without dried wings, and with a beautiful smokey brown color. Will be trying this on a pizza oven adapter next…

Impressive
I bought this for my 22" Weber and a Weber 18" rotisserie ring at the same time, both from Skyflame. I'm extremely impressed with the quality of Skyflame products. This came packed well and installation was easy. I decided to do a 5lb pork butt to get it dialed in. I included pics of my charcoal loading strategy which included a water pan and fist sized chunk of hickory. I estimate the basket is 2/3 full on my cook. I placed 10 lit coals opposite the water pan, placed the diffuser on, put my meat on and then the lid. Bottom and top vents all the way open.It took 15 minutes to hit 250* and I walked away. I returned and the temps were 350*+. I had to almost completely close the bottom vent and completely closed the top (since my lid has a gap on one side) and I got the temps down to 300* on the hot side and 290* on the other side. I have 2 thermometers on opposite sides of the lid and temps stayed within 15* from one side to the other. It held 300* for 4 hours before it started to drop. A few adjustments and it ran at 250* for 1 hr, then 225* for another hour. After 6 total hours my butt was at 190* so pulled it and let it rest. I cleaned my kettle and the ceramic plate then proceeded to slide a clean bone from my butt (pause). The results were the best pulled pork I've ever made!!!I would definitely recommend this product if you want to turn your kettle into a smoker. Temp management is the only tricky thing but I think I'll have it dialed in by my 3rd cook.

Worked great but ceramic plate cracked
Bought this to turn my weber into a smoker. The good:Smoked a brisket with It and worked really great and held low 225 to 250 temperature perfectly. Full ring of charcoal can get 10-12 hr cook. The bad:The ceramic plate cracked during the first cook as shown in the picture. Not sure what caused it other than being a defective plate.Getting a replacement sent to try again as it really does work very well. I really love Amazons replacement policy.

Houston, We Have A Problem
Great concept, poor quality. I loaded the basket up with about 3 hours worth of charcoal, which isn't a lot considering that, based on what others have said, it can go for up to 10 hours when the basket is completely full. For my first cook, I put on a 4.5 pound whole chicken, which usually takes me about 1 hr 20 minutes to cook at 380F. I brought the temperature of the kettle up to 380F, put a piece of foil on the ceramic diffuser, put the grate on the tabs that hold it in place, and then put my bird on. After one hour of cook time, during which the temperature never went higher than 390F, I went to check on my bird to see how it was doing. It was cooking beautifully, with a nice crispy color on the outside all the way around. But I noticed a huge crack in the diffuser plate.I did notice when I took the diffuser plate out of the box when it arrived that it was a lot thinner than the diffuser plate on my 13 inch Kamado grill. Which is to say, since this diffuser plate is a lot larger then it should also be a lot thicker. I think the manufacturer was trying to reduce costs and went with a thinner diffuser. No way would I recommend this. I sent mine back.

Amazing
Do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A SLOW-N-Sear! This allows you to use the full surface area of the grill grate, and can hold infinitely more charcoal than an SnS. Very easy to clean, you can use a water pan, and it works for everything from low and slow cooking to grilling burgers. I’ve used a lot of different cooking devices and this one will stay in one of my kettle’s and see a ton of use

A must have!
I mulled buying this for a while, watched some vids on it, and finally decided to buy one. After half a few cooks, this really is a must have for the weber 22. It makes temp control much more precise. The coal burning is waaaaay more efficient than the weber baskets and the slo n sear! Also with this set up you’re able to use the entire grate not just one side with the typical indirect methods.

Perfect addition for Low and Slow on my 26" Weber Kettle
I bought this to use on my 26" weber kettle for low and slow indirect cooking and it's working flawlessly for me. It's designed for 22" kettles but it can be used on a 26 but the run time might not be as long as on the 22.

Ceramic cracked on first use 😞
I bought this heat defuser last December as a Christmas present for myself. Today, May 13th is my first time using it. I was happy with the way it worked cooking a chuck roast but during the course of the cook the ceramic defuser stone broke. Still trying to figure out how to contact Skyflame to see about the warranty. I am happy with their products and I will update this review after I see how well their customer service works.
