Mine guqin is amazing piece of art. Golden hands crafted it with whole heart set on it. That s the why it has own soul given and sound that resonates deeply, covers me with peace and lets me forget all around without trace of time. For me as a guitar player it is real surprise. Thanks. Hugs

Really beautiful, saw an older at the Honolulu Museum of Art. I haven’t played it but want to but will probably hang on wall when I get around to it!

It arrived at the wrong address - five days late. The strings are coated in a cheap plastic that irritates my fingers. Maybe it's an allergy; maybe it's an unhealthy material. The body shape is wobbly and the stain is applied with disgraceful technique.But, you get what you pay for. It makes the noises. A strange smell exudes from the sound holes when the body vibrates. We have to accept that this is a rare instrument, and everything about it is expensive for that reason. While $300 will get you a good guitar, it will not get you a good Guqin (or Qin). All this review is missing is a joke about products 'made in China'.Edit:The tuning knobs slip under pressure. Imagine a phone cable or aux cable that only works at a certain angle. Now, imagine seven - mere millimeters apart. And you can't see what your doing. And you have to do this constantly because it keeps going out of tune.

Looks and sounds excellent! Has been played for 5 years and still enjoying.

The shipping time was a bit long, probably due to the pandemic but the customer service was helpful and gave us updates timely. The Guqin looks great! We love how it sounds and the cover coming with it!

Update:I'm changing my review now that I have gained more knowledge of guqin. The paint on this guqin is chemical, which is understandable since lacquer guqin cannot come at this price. The sound is therefore not as deep and rich. When it first arrived, it had a very strong odor of raw paint. It was gone after few days, but be careful not to inhale it for health concern.The surface on this guqin I bought had cracked after one month of regular use. It can still be played, but unlike the cracks of a lacquer guqin, the cracks on mine was irregular and unpleasing to the eye.Nevertheless, at this price, pure beginners can use this guqin as a starting point. The included practice book (in Chinese) and tuner device are helpful. Just know that this guqin does not represent what real guqin should sound like.

good product, plays good for beginner. Hard to find this somewhere else. I think its worth trying this one.
