Update*.
Got his one used mine came straight from the distributor and the switch went out not even a couple months later. Hopefully this one will last** update it is now March 2019 and the switch has become faulty on this one as well. I have contacted the manufacturer now as I think this is a product defect as no fault to the seller.

Top notch heat dissipation
The top gets a lot less hot than other similar products. Works great.

EXTREMELY ANGRY. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS
If I could give no stars I would. I'm planning on trashing this one and the other one that I bought. This is insanely dangerous. I run these with a 150 watt bulb unmoving from its spot for a max of 12 hours a day for 6 months and this is what it looked like today when my husband tried to figure out why it shocked the shit out of me this morning when I tried to turn it on. I'm lucky I could let go. It was just me and my daughter home. Very unsettled by this..I dont know how you can sleep at night selling these. my second one literally blew up today. Sparks flew. I cut myself trying to scramble to unplug it to save my pet! I'm so lucky he was in his heavy duty hide or he would havhave gotten burned. I'm glad it happened while I was home! I only used it sparingly after the last one shocked the crap out of me. Dont buy these. Seriously. You could die or have a near death experience like I've had or your damn house could probably burn down if you arent home.DONTBUYTHIS.

Switch to turn light on and off broke.
Really?? 5 months later and the switch for my lamp BROKE. I can no longer turn off my lizards light using the switch. The lamp is stuck ON unless I unplug it. Glad I spent close to $50 for something that broke in less than a year.

Don't waste your money
Have had for less than 4 months, killed my UVB bulb, and sparked when I tried to put a new bulb in it. Don't buy this.

Buy another brand, HAZARDOUS
I don't remember where I bought my Exo Terra dome but glad I was home when I saw it flickering with my reptile bulb. Tried different bulbs and it was the fixture not the bulbs, put the bulb in a different Fluckers fixture and the bulb was fine. Tried contacting Exoterra and it seems that they have a limit on how long they cover the fixtures. It is a socket and switch, it SHOULDN'T GO BAD UNLESS MADE BAD! I've had other brands for years without this problem. Seeing the reviews seems like others have had issues too. Sticking with Zilla or Fluckers.
