These keep the smell and fumes out of my face while in welding and fit perfectly a welding mask as well as help reduce the heat you would breath in from a normal shop environment

Much better than the plastic p100 cartridges, but still have a noxious smell that needs airing out, especially if you have MCS.
Good alternative to the plastic North p100 cartridges. While the plastic p100 cartridges had a strong glue smell that did not air out even after weeks of ventilation, these pancake filters only have a light coating (probably what gives these some mild oil resistance) on them that smelled moderately for a couple weeks, and then dissipated. They seem very effective for particulate (unfortunately, for my purposes, I also need VOC filtration, much to my surprise). I have MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities) and find that the combined p100/VOC/acid gas filters work best for my needs, but if you have MCS and just want a p100 filter, get these ones and air them for a couple weeks -- NOT the cartridges. They seemed physically durable over the month or so I used them (used daily for a couple hours of light exertion).

One of the best respirators and filters I have used. Excellent in high dust environments. It does fit under the welding helmet also, but safety glasses ride a little high on the nose.

Great for sanding
I've been doing some home projects with a lot of sanding involved, and these filters are great. Prevents me from breathing in dust and also reduces paint fumes when painting (low volatile acrylic latex paint). I received my order within 2 days of ordering!
