You need to count the splines. Unless you have 4.56 factory, you should have 28 spline axles. That will not work in a 31 spline carrier

8.8" 31 spline differential is what this is. Yes, this fits into your '09 Ford. I don't believe that the irs makes any difference in the differential.

I put one in my 2003 8.8 31 spline should work fine.
