The Rublev Trinity is a glorious, radiant artifact that will grace any home, for worship or simply as art.
This is one of the most beautiful artifacts that has ever graced our home. It reflects the radiance of divine love in brilliant--but never garish--colors, shining like the sun whenever it catches light of any kind--sunrise, sunset, and lamplight. I have hung it over our lighted globe, so it always reflects the light. Lamplight would do as well, but by coincidence(?), the Rublev "Trinity" happens to perfectly match the colors on our globe, amplifying the beauty of representations of both earth and heaven. When I first hung it there, it was breathtaking--and it still is. It's a special blessing to me as a Christian, but I'm confident that a non-believer would enjoy it for the artistic value of Andrei Rublev's 15th-century vision alone.Copies of "Trinity" (sometimes called the "Old Testament Trinity") are available in flat finish as well, and these are probably more faithful to the original. I expected to prefer that one, but I have ordered both the flat one and this glowing rendition, and I found that I prefer this radiant one.I ordered these additional Trinity icons as gifts. It was mildly challenging to communicate with the seller in his language, but I understood his message, and he cordially responded to mine, so it's well worth the minor inconvenience and longer shipping time--particularly since the price is considerably lower than the U.S. company from which I ordered my first Trinity icons. The reason I turned to Zeitnot was that the American company posted a "Hurry--only 5 left" warning on its website. Then, after I had placed the order to Zeitnot, it turned out that the U.S. company did, in fact, have more in stock, so I don't know what the "Hurry" warning was about, but it did make me look for other sellers, and that's how I found Zeitnot. The one improvement I would appreciate is for the icon makers to add some way to hang them. There is no hook of any kind on any of them--U.S. or foreign. I have used a tray hangar as a temporary expedient, and am working on better ways to hang it.

Gorgeous version of Rublev Holy Trinity icon - thin, but sturdy - can be framed
First, I was torn between the faded original Rublev and this brighter version. Finally, we decided that the original Rublev probably looked more like this when it was new, so we chose this one. We have other icons from this company, the same size, but on 3/4 " thick wood, so I was surprised when I received this icon because it was so thin. In Russia, you can buy these framed in wood and glass to the exact size. Of course it looks quite striking as is, but you can get it custom framed to size, or purchase a larger frame and add a mat as we did. At the top of the icon, in old Russian, are the words "Svyataya Troitsa/Holy Trinity". Above all, it is a beautiful window into Heaven, and a constant reminder of the Holy Trinity who are beyond time and space - the origin of Creation and of each one of us, our salvation and ultimate destination.

Calf's Head is in the Chalice - Not the Devil's Head
Some reviews are mistakenly reporting that the devil's head is in the chalice, which would make the image blasphemous. Actually, it is the head of the calf that Abraham sacrificed and served to the three heavenly visitors (see Genesis 18:7-8). For more info on the rich symbolism contained in this image, search online for "Andrei Rublev's Trinity."This is a lovely icon that makes for a fine gift. There is nothing blasphemous about it.

Head of Satan in Chalice.
Received this icon yesterday. Notice some damage to the front but was thinking of ignoring it since it really only showed up in the light. Then i noticed the head of satan sitting in the chalice at the table, this is a blasphemous image do not buy.

Very nice icon
This is about 5” and if I use it myself ,it would be great size. I bought two and give one to a friend. So I frame it and it looks very elegant. When I showed it to my friends, they all like it.

Nice Icon But No Way To Hang It
This icon is very attractive, but since it does NOT come with either a hook or a scooped out part in back that would fit on a nail, it must be propped against a shelf or wall where it will not be knocked over. The listing states "Comes with a hook for hanging on wall" but when I asked about this, the seller informed me that they don't include a hook and that Amazon would not let them change anything on the listing besides the price. Since it is pretty and relatively inexpensive, I chose to keep the icon and will either prop it up against a corner shelf or try lining the back edges with double-sided tape to hang it on a wall. This is too large for a travel icon and I would not send it as a gift because of the hanging issue, but it is otherwise as described.
