Green Indicator Pins for Inflatable Life Jackets/PFDs

Q: Does the life vest actually need the indicator pin to work or is it just to indicate that it is armed?

You don't NEED it, BUT it is an indicator and if missing, that your cartridge may have been used and therefore will not work when needed. Best to have the pins.

Q: Will these pins work for the onyx m-16 belt pack manual inflatable life jacket?

Yes it does. FYI when i brought them from Amazon out of the pack there were quite a few that were broken.

We don't have a video for this at the moment. This pin only works with Halkey Roberts V85000, and 840AMU inflation mechanisms. You can see pictures of the different type of inflators on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.253795128037718.61063.150604678356764&type=3In this case the Pin has a half circle shape that fits into a similarly shaped feature on the mechanism. However, OLDER inflation mechanisms may not work with this clip and require a different clip, number 8452AMA which I don't currently sell on Amazon. There is also a discontinued HENCO inflator out there that this clip won't fit and replacement clips for that mechanism have long since been discontinued as well.This green pin is somewhat poorly designed as the thin little pin can break easily, unlike the 8452AMA clip.

Q: Hi, can you take this on a plane? I want to use it for a vacation.

Yes. Only items containing CO2 can be of an issue. If you need to carry replacement CO2, you need to check with your airline and most likely check the luggage, not carry it with you.
