Q: I tried on my pc windows and my Macbook pro and audacity won't give me any recording or instructions should I send it back? Can someone help on this?

I had good results from mine. Was running OSX Yosemite on iMac at the time and copying an audio cassette from a small tape recorder.

Hi, as long as the Chromebook has a USB-C input and you have a USB convertor, the Audio Capture Card Device should work for standard audio conversions (from a cassette deck, for example). But the USB Audio Capture Card Device doesn't have a phono convertor on it. If your turntable has a standard RCA stereo cable output and converts the signal from vinyl to analog audio, this might work. I use a separate USB convertor for vinyl record conversion to digital audio files. Good luck!

I assume you meant to say "stereo output" not "input." I don't use Audacity because I've already been using Sound Studio. On Sound Studio it shows the separate stereo signals. I assume Audacity would too. The cable simply works to adapt the rca plugs to USB.

This USB converter is for line level signals only. To record from a turntable, you will need a Phono Preamp as well. Audacity or any number of apps will do the recording once you get the low phono level amplified up to consumer line level.
