I wanted a real Japanese knife to cut homemade sushi. Very sharp and made precise cuts. The knife is beautiful too.

Don’t compare this to a $250 knife, but it’s great for the money.

I got this for my brother-in-law who makes sushi for 7 people once a week, and he loves it. I've tried it too, and slices more cleanly than any other knife I have used.

The material is very cheap is not sharp at all there many knife for the same price that are way better than this one don’t buy it

Knife blad is very good, very sharp, nice one sided bevel.Feel is great in the hand, perfect for taking chicken off the bone. Handle is a good size.Blad does not move in the handle however the plastic part by the blade on the handle has some small movement. This is generally a tolerance and fit and finish issue. But in this price range that is somewhat to be expected.Blade steel is nice and sharp and seems to be easy to sharpen with Japanese wetstones. Probably shouldn't try to use a honing rod.Made in Japan as far as I know and is etched in the blade. Yes I would recommend this knife if you are looking for a poultry knife to remove meat from the bones. It's a knife dedicated to that job other knives will do other kitchen tasks better but for this task this knife is excellent.

This is probably the best yanagi knife you can find on Amazon with a low budget. Great starter knife!
