Amazing grinder.
Very good quality grinder. A little bulky to use one handed, especially with the trigger placement, but fairly light weight and comfortable for a 13 amp grinder. Has plenty of power, you'd have to be doing something wrong to get it to bind up and torque out. Even if you did, it has a spring clutch that disengages and prevents kick back. The SDS features is nice, doesn't want to jump out of your hand on start up like a dewalt, also WAY quieter than even a 7.5 amp dewalt we use at work.

Received this August 6th, 2024. Now broken
I got this August 6,2024. It is now October 22,2024. It no longer starts up at all. Power source is fine, grinder is the issue. I expect a grinder that costs this much to last longer than my cheap harbor freight grinder.

Excellent tool at a good price
I bought this grinder and the Dewalt Knotted Cup Brush to clean old carpet glue from a concrete floor. It did the job quickly and well. I also have used the grinder to sharpen garden tools (easier than trying to move the large tools across a stationary bench grinder). I expect to use it in the future to roughly shape curved wood objects, such as cabriole legs. It is lightweight and easy to hold. I have found that the guard does not completely protect your hands from flying bits, so wear gloves when using it.

great profesonal grinder
I use it to make metal art & I grind a lot welds. I use it all most every day I have other Makita tools & they are great . I think it is a bit on the heavy side but well balanced so no big deal. I love the no extyra safety features. I can just grab it & hit the little "trigger" that allows me to press the paddle I'm grinding. It is the smoothest one of all my grinders & very powerful. It does not kick out of my hand when I start it up, like my Milwaukee . I have run it for a full hour doing a rush job & it never got hot I also have a Metabo. I burnt one up in under a year they are so expensive to fix I just chucked it I can get the Makita fixed for around $65 to $80 after warranty time, I can fix it locally,& not have to wait forever to get it back. I can't tell you about the longevity of the tool as I've only had it for a month. The Milwaukee lasted three years but they changed the " safety trigger . this change I'm sure is because of whiners amatures , & to protec theirselves. I am neither, so I appreciate the Makita co. not going over board with buttons , extra switches ect just to start the thing. OK one thing you may not like , & will have to get used to . When you take your hand off the paddle to shut it down, as the unit is slowing down, if you apply pressure to the paddle again , I mean right away before it stops , it will take a second or two for the motor to catch & start running at full capacity. If your into assembly line, fast , fast grinding you may want to think about another model. I have just learned to keep my hand on the paddle, & let it run, while I flip the piece I'm grinding over. It has a nice long cord & it doesn't tangle as much as the other grinders. ( The Metabo cord is the worse one ever) The disk change button is in the right place as is the handle

Looks like a great grinder
Looks like a great grinder, but it's WAY heavier than advertised in the description. I thought the advertised light weight (4.2lbs) justified the extra money, but the tool really weighs 5.3 pounds so I'm sending it back. Is it really that hard to put the correct weight down for Makita Angle Grinders? Seems to be a problem with many of them. I suggest finding a manual or info online instead of trusting the descriptions. I'm hoping Amazon itself doesn't have anything to do with this deception. I love the company, but this is a disappointment.

The Makita 9564PC Angle Grinder is Awesome!
This is a great grinder. I initially bought some harbor freight garbage and instantly returned it. I then bought this Makita grinder. Worth every penny. It doesn't bog down. It doesn't overheat. The weight seems appropriate. The guard is easy to adjust. I've used cut off wheels, grinding discs, flap wheels and wire brushes during the course of a restoration I've been doing to a classic car and this grinder has not left me feeling disappointed. Highly recommended.
