Exceptional book
Exceptional book - activities are impactful and easy to accomplish - all needed information is there for the participants and facilitators. Great for educators as activities are broken down by competencies and other factors such as level of disclosure and level of risk. I will wear this book out for sure, it will be used a lot in my classroom.

The charts can not be read in Kindle
Review is for Kindle Reader on a pc laptop: I'm debating whether or not to return this book. While I can read the printed text, I can not read any of the important charts. The charts are necessary in order to properly sort out the activities.

Great EQ Training Tool
Daniel Goleman was among the first to highlight the connection between success and emotional intelligence. For some time now educators have recognized the benefits of active learning, teaching the lesson using activities that engage the participants. The Emotional Intelligence Activity Kit combines two powerful concepts, the need for greater emotional intelligence and the benefits of activity based learning to provide a useful resource which will help people absorb the lessons of emotional intelligence faster and on a deeper level. In the book, the authors Adele Lynn and Janele Lynn first give some background information on the importance of emotional intelligence (EQ) in our work and our lives. Then they provide useful guidelines on how to use the book. Next is an overview of the structure of the various activities contained in the book. The real meat of the book is 50 activities that trainers/teachers and coaches can use to help their workers and clients gain a better understanding of EQ and how to apply the lessons in their lives. Finally there are very good cross reference tables at the end of the book which allows the user to quickly scan and select the activities which will best suit their desired outcomes. The activities are well organized and the reader will have all the information necessary to understand the desired outcome, the most appropriate audience and the level of disclosure (personal risk) the audience will be asked to take. The guidelines for each activity are well stated. If you are a corporate trainer, teacher or coach that uses group activities to enhance the EQ among your followers, then this would be a very helpful resource. There is a wide variety of activities and you will certainly be able to find one that is suitable for any EQ lesson you want to teach. The activity based learning will help reinforce the lesson and make it much easier for the audience to remember. Seeking a principle in action will also make it easier for the audience to see how the lesson applies to real life situations. It takes the learning from the theoretical to the practical.I was provided a review copy of this book.

Useful activities that won't make them roll their eyes
I'm excited to try the activities in this book out with my coworkers. I work at an engineering company and am always on the lookout for nontrivial teambuilding exercises that people will actually engage with. One activity that I might try first is called "Selfie Listening" and encourages people to be better listeners. It requires active engagement from the group and is particularly relevant for people who have daily standup meetings with distractions abound. There are also challenging activities that can be used with leadership-level employees, like the activity reflecting on a person's Authenticity and how much someone's perceived authenticity can impact their relationships at work. This is a thoughtful and well-written book that I anticipate using for years to come as my team and company scale up.

I didn’t find it useful
Lots of ideas and activities for sure, but they are complex and seem hard to execute. I would not recommend this book for those seeking to embrace emotional intelligence activities in their workplace.
