Used for first time and was easy even for me!
I had read one review saying she could not get an even cut and quickly found out that if you wiggle the jar or bottle it is only normal that it doesn't cut straight edges. On my first try I had a little wiggle and the little nick was small enough to sand clean (with one of the sandpapers supplied). On the second try I paid close attention to turn the jar evenly and it turned out perfectly. Requires a little pressure when turning.

Uneven edges
The product does not cut evenly and is jagged. I would not recommend the product.

Easy To Use - Once You Watch a Couple of YouTube Videos.
I make a LOT of things, but I have never cut glass nor used any type of cutting apparatus. I must admit I was a little intimidated. I tried a couple of times using some old mason jars, but had no success. Then...I got on YouTube. First of all, I realized a heat gun might be a handy tool to have; I got back on good old Amazon and found a Wagner heat gun for under $20. Next, I realized that although the limited directions which came with the cutter indicate "cold" water, what is really needed is ICE water; cold is not going to get it. In the demonstration I watched, the guy used a plastic water pitcher filled with ice water instead of the shallow tray pictured in the cutter instructions. More than anything else, the video stressed the importance of a clean score on the bottles, ending right where the first cut began. So today, it was do or die for me; either get this right or give it away. I must say as I was more than a little discouraged after my previous attempts. I practiced on another mason jar before I began cutting on bottled; it went so easily and so perfectly with the proper scoring, heat gun and pitcher of ice water. I didn't even have to use the O-rings. Then I went on to the "real deal", the bottles. Could not believe how easily they went. One of the great features about this bottle cutter is that is has strong rubber grips on the bottom, so the unit stays put as you do your cutting/scoring. I am attaching a picture of what I did in less than 15 minutes. Big difference from my first several attempts!Bottom line is this is a nifty craft item and it will be fun to come up with stuff to make. Right now I am concentrating on using bottles as bases for wind-chimes. Yes, it takes a bit of practice to get those cuts/scores just right, but it works MUCH more easily with a heat gun and ICE cold water in a tall pitcher to make the bottles separate cleanly and quickly. UPDATE FOR NEWBIES: Rely less on the heat gun and more on the ice water. I have found that a few swipes around the score on the bottle, followed by more time in the ice water. You might have to repeat a few times, but slow and steady (with more time in ice water) does the job - without cracking.

Very high quality and generous accessories, needs better instructions
The quality of this product exceeded all expectations for the price point. Both the bottle cutter and accessories are made out of strong, durable materials and well-constructed and finished. They were also very generous with accessories: In addition to the cutter, the kit came with a very well made glass cutter/breaker rod, safety gloves, two pieces of good quality sandpaper, a replacement cutter head, two sets of rubber o-rings (to channel the hot water required to sever the glass), and a drill bit for cutting holes in glass. Everything was neatly and securely packaged and delivery was within 24 hours in a very sturdy shipping box. There are only two reasons I did not give this 5 stars: 1) The instructions don't tell you enough. You really have to go find web videos to teach you how to use it properly, and 2) Amazon shipped the product in it's own box (which is fine) but did not tape it. The contents COULD [but did not] have fallen out during shipping and delivery.HERE ARE THE "CUTTING" INSTRUCTIONS THEY SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED: This is not a cutter, it just scores the surface of the bottle so that heat stress will precisely break the bottle in half. 1) Press bottle down hard in cutter and turn the bottle only ONE full rotation to create a visible scratch around the circumference of the bottle. 2) Put rubber O-rings on either side of the scratch. 3) Boil a tea kettle full of water and pour the boiling water between the O-rings while turning the bottle (to stress the glass) for 40 seconds. 4) Run tap water between the O-rings for two turns of the bottle. 5) Keeping repeating steps 3 and 4 until the bottle just pops in half. You do NOT have to twist, pull, or strike the glass. The expansion from the hot water will just pop it in half.

It works well
I like the product. I had read some negative comments about the product in the reviews. I had some doubts before buying it. I finally got it and try it today. as an non-experienced person, I could easily work with it and worked well. The picture showing two bottles I have cut today.
