Q: Does the cooler have a strap so you could carry it on your shoulder?

No, this bag does not have a shoulder strap. I will say it is the best cooler I have purchased and recently used to transport frozen items from NJ to Fla. Everything, along with blue ice blocks stayed frozen with no problems. I strapped a luggage strap around it so the bag would not become detached from the cart. Love it!!! May purchase another one just because it's so great!

No it does not leak with ice inside but we dumped the trolley it sits on as it was always collapsing on the underside.

Q: How do you lock the handle in place when extended?

You don't. It id a pain in the butt and you have to work around it.
