Q: Can my son use this reed on a B Clarinet? I bought these by mistake

It is always best to use the reeds made for specific instruments. Alto (E-flat) clarinets are bigger than the standard B-flat clarinets and the reeds won’t fit the same.

Q: Whats the difference between the 2.0 and 2.5? My son just started claranet and none of his state what the numbers.

The numbers indicate the firmness of the reed. Lower the number, the easier to play initially, but the harder to have good sound and control, especially for higher notes. 2-2.5 is good enough for school band. I used 2s for years and only moved to 2.5s - 3s when I started playing more advanced pieces. Depends on preference.

Q: Does it work for a saxaphone

It is always best to get the reeds intended for your specific instrument. Although other reeds may work there will be differences in widths that can cause the instrument to lay differently.
