Found a workaround for burned batteries/overheat problems described. Excellent product
I bought two of these to warm 2 LiPO batteries used in a Sprinter van inverter setup. LiPO batteries MUST be over 32 degrees Fahrenheit to take a charge or use in normal operation. So living up north in Indiana and having a sitting vehicle between runs is problematic. I must have a working setup as I sleep in this van, and use a Cpap machine. A must for me, period. LiPO batteries are not the type this warmer is typically for, due to elements melting the very often halfway empty plastic cases they are housed in. These warmers are made to heat cells made of lead and battery acid, which easily take the heat generated. Consequently, they can get too hot for anything other than lead acid batteries.Easy fix: Buy 4- 4X4" smooth white ceramic bathroom tiles. Place 2 tiles smooth side up on your base surface (so the warmer is on a perfectly smooth surface on the bottom. Keeps it functional with no short circuits this way.) Lay your warmer evenly on top. Place two more tiles SMOOTH SIDE DOWN on top of the warmer. Again, to avoid short circuits and optimize surface area for your battery warmer to get these tiles warmed up. Place your battery on top of this setup.I did this, and it works great. It provides a nice warm and UNIFORM surface for your (any kind of battery) and it radiates heat that won't melt it. All that ceramic material holds heat, as well. And the heat stays very even that way. No hotspots or hot toaster wires under your battery.Efficient, nice and warm, and safe. Try it. It works. And you are quite welcome.

Recommendable...
With the other companies' reviews, I decided to go with this one. So far, no issues with my truck battery melting or getting too hot. Very happy with this purchase as it seems to do the trick. I don't leave the pad plugged in over night but rather have it on a timer so it heats things up an hour or so before I start the vehicle. I'd recommend this to a someone.

Not warming up
I just recieved mine today. Plugged it it to see if it would warm up before installing it. It is not warming it. Like it is a faulty item. How do I know? I bought a oilpan heating g pad as well, tested that and I could feel the heat and current flowing through.Facon was as cold as ice. Maybe it was buit to keep the battery cold instead

It's getting our poor car through this crazy cold spell!
Our 10 year old car doesn't like to always start here in the Midwest when it gets below about 20 degrees. So when I saw this weather system full of fridgid temps coming I decided to order this battery heater pad. Of course I waited until the last possible second to order it. Amazon came through and delivered it with their appreciated Prime quickness, and I was out there disconnecting and removing my battery literally the last day before the cold front. While I had the battery out, I cleaned up the terminals and whatnot. Then I put the Facon pad on the bottom, ran the cord up and out the front grill a bit, and reinstalled the battery. The pad feels well-made, nice thick silicone flexible material. Well, I plugged it in that evening, the next morning I woke up to -5 degrees, went to start the car, and Wham! Started no problem!I definitely recommend this little heating pad. The car has started every morning this week, every day being in the negative numbers! Thank you for making a great product Facon! Plus, installing it was WAY easier than actually cleaning and getting rid of all the junk in the garage so I could actually park it IN there! Maybe next year!

Holds battery temperature above freezing
I taped the pad to the side of my battery, and that works well, no pinching. Batt 42degF, air temp 30degF. This keeps my battery from freezing and thus able to maintain charge. Located in a travel trailer.

Warms my battery
Warms my battery minimum of 20°F warmer than ambient temperature, enough to charge my camper’s LiFePO4 house battery.
