Fun
I love this Big Sully. It has given me something new to breath new life into my crocheting and knitting. It is such a stress relief to know for a fact that my yarn is contained and won't be rolling across floor or pets getting ahold of anymore. Best of all is that I can put one project aside in a project bag to interrupt myself with another project without having to cut the yarn. I am back to crocheting at every free opportunity. I highly recommend winding yarns and even cotton thread size 10 into cakes with a yarn winder for best results, but that is something I have always done.I will not be putting the white plastic ruler into the slot of the yarn bowl because the spindle won't be able to be stored in Big Sully with it snapped in.I think the plastics seem if good quality / not flimsy or easy to break.I highly recommend this product.

Not big enough....
It's a great product concept. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit a large skein of yarn, like a super saver or a large cake. I guess when I get the skein down in size, then I can use it.

Keeps the puppy away!
I have a puppy that likes to play with my working yarn. I saw the smaller version and thought ok…then I saw this larger one and BINGO! I have to sit in doctors offices and hospitals a lot and this larger holder is great. I still can travel win it using the handle and store small scissors in the little compartment in bottom. I do sometimes grap the silicone handle wrong and have to re-attach it, but otherwise it great.

Knit Crochet group opened and commented.
This is an ambitious yarn bowl. It wants to be everything you might need while crocheting or knitting with two seperate balls of yarn in one project. Especially if the yarn is fuzzy and tangles.I found the space for each of my yarn cakes slightly tight. Once I use up some of the yarn then it should work smoothly. It was very difficult to slide the ruler into its slot and pinched me when it finally went into place, but it is there to stay now. The group likes the boot that holds small accessories securely and holds the bowl in place on a table top. There is a knitting needle sizer on the lid of the yarn bowl as well as a place to park your knitting needles where they won't get broken when you put your project down for awhile. It even comes with a removable spindle to handle a long (red heart type) ball of yarn instead of two balls of yarn.It has a snug band to keep it securely closed and also works as a handle to carry the bowl with yarn. This yarn bowl is an absolute over achiever and we like it.

Great to keep out cats
It works just like you’d want, keeps the yarn inside and doesn’t get tangled. I didn’t have any luck with the rod that can be put through the center to let it roll out, but that wasn’t a big deal to me. I prefer to wind my yarn into cakes beforehand and those unwound perfectly inside this without any pulling. The main reason I bought it was to limit the amount of “help” I would get from my cats. Mission accomplished. I will say the bottom rubber piece is great to keep it from sliding all over the place, too.

It's nice having my balls of crochet thread contained.
I'm happy with the Big Sully. It works great with balls of crochet thread up to 1000 yd balls. I find it works best without using the spindle, since the thread sometimes wraps around it & gets stuck. Just place the ball of thread inside, close the lid, & begin your project. No more balls of thread accidentally rolling onto the floor, or cats trying to play with it! I'm very happy with my purchase!
