This hat stretcher worked great for my fitted Cadet hats. I was able to size several hats that shrank after washing. It doesn't have any measurements so first, I had to put it in my favorite hat to get a number of twists for my size, then use it to stretch the other hats. It's easy to use, has some weight to it which I like, and feels like it will last a long time, as long as it stays clean and dry.

This was exactly what I needed to stretch out a couple of pricey felt hats that I had that were too tight. I used a steamer to assist. Put the hat stretcher in the hat snug enough to hold it there, then steam it all the way around the rim. While the hats still warm and steamy, crank the stretcher till it doesn't want to turn anymore with reasonable pressure, then let it sit for a day or two. Like having a brand new hat !

I got a new Homberg hat for Christmas. Need just a bit of stretching and shaping. I could have done simply by wearing it for quite a while but this did the trick after just 24 hour.

What a great tool to stretch out shrunken hats! So simple, but it just works. I would highly recommend this to anyone for their hat-stretching needs.

This hat stretcher is great for creating a perfect fit for a long oval hat size. My hat size is 7 3/8L and the front of the stretcher was a bit too round for what I needed. I used a sander to remove some of the wood until the stretched hat fit my head perfectly.

It is available now for $15.88 (November 23, 2024).It seems as though the process by which one takes care of their apparel is not as straight forward as one would think before making the first purchase. This is particularly relevant to shoes and hats. I purchased some STETSON Hats that were just a bit too snug. In addition, they are wide flat brim hats. along with the need for the hat size to remain constant, it is a task keeping the brim flat.The hat stretcher is somewhat similar to shoe stretchers that one uses to help keep the shape of one's shoes presentable. The hat stretcher is used in a similar fashion. However, in order to make the minute size differences for any kind of hat, whether custom made,or of the shelf, a hat stretcher can be utilized for that purpose.Along with a brim press, the hat stretcher should be used to keep one's hats looking as presentable as when just purchased. In order to increase the size of one's hat, just spray some water in the area under the sweat band, place the stretcher in the opening, flush with the brim; and adjust the turnbuckle as required for the size desired. As per the hat material, one can expect to increase the size about one quarter of a full hat size...maybe a half size.There are times when the hat stretcher will cause the brim to become misshapen. This will occur according to the amount of stretching that is desired. This is when a brim press should be used in tandem with the hat stretcher. Unfortunately, manufactured brim presses are very rare. I had to make mine.Nonetheless, I will continue to purchase the Tang's Wooden Hat Stretcher for all of my hats. A very good investment for those who like being fastidiously presentable.

So if your trying to get a FlexFit hat adjusted then this tool will work. I left it stretched out for 3 days, on the 3rd day I put the hat on and it was very comfortable, but by the next morning, the hat adjusted back into the tight snugg fit it came as. So I’m not sure what I need to do in order for it keep un-snugged.
