ZHENG GU SHUI - External Analgesic Lotion, 3.4 Oz

I originally bought this liquid that looks like soy sauce for a fractured wrist because I read online that it is a bone-healing liquid. It did it magic, worked well, and healed a bone for me. When I returned to the orthopedic doctor, he said the medical x-rays did not show that the bone had ever been fractured. This product saved me from surgery and inserting a pin. It has a very strong smell and can definitely eat the skin off if too much is applied and left on too long, which I did by applying it to cotton soaked in it and then covered with plastic wrap and left on for a while. I advise not to do this because then it takes a while for skin to recover. I have used it since then for tight muscles in my neck, shoulder, and lower back; and it has really helped very quickly. It will definitely stain fabric; so, be aware of that, too.

It's not a bad product, but I found out after I bought it that the percentages of various ingredients is not accurate. On Amazon, it lists the Menthol content as being at 16%. That is not correct. The correct percentages of the ingredients are: 5.6% Camphor and 5.6% Menthol. I'm not saying that this topical isn't effective, it's just a weaker version than what is being advertised. I'm not sure that a version with 16% Menthol exists. Overall, it is a decent product. I ordered some Kwan Loong Oil and some Eagle brand medicated oil at the same time that I ordered the Zheng Gu Shui. The smells are lighter with the other two and they have seemed to be more effective with the pain relief (mainly my back and my knees). There is alcohol in this so it may penetrate faster (certainly evaporates faster) and it does provide temporary relief as advertised. Another good thing about this product is the bottle itself. It has a wider mouth and the liquid is brown in color (haven't had an issue with it staining clothes as of yet) so it is easier to put on a cotton ball and target the pain. I hope this helps you make an informed decision.
