I purchased the 11-piece set (I didn't think I would have use for the 8 steak knives in the 19 piece set). Excellent quality set, and the knives are quite sharp! The variety of knives that the set comes with is fantastic. They are easy to cut with and aren't too heavy or too light. Definitely a good set to invest in that will last a long time, but you have to take care of it and hand wash the knives! No quality knives should ever be put in the dishwasher. The block is also good quality and holds the set well. Some of the knife slots are bigger than the actual knives, but this is probably so that you can organize them however you like in the block, and also allows it to accommodate other knives that aren't in this set. Great set overall, I plan to use them for many, many years.

Be aware that these knives are VERY sharp. They are comfortable in the hand. I have very small hands, and they are comfortable. My husband has large hands, and they are comfortable for him as well. I’m hoping these will last a lifetime.

As a new homeowner, my friends got together and gifted me with money for the set of knives I've always wanted. After so much research, I ended up ordering the Zwilling TWIN Signature 11 piece set. These were beautiful, right out of the box. These knives are sharp, heavy duty, ergonomic and a crazy great value for the money spent. These are not just another purchase for the kitchen, but a lifetime investment. I am thrilled with with the decision I made.

I cut my finger right out of the box and didn't even realize it. So - imagine The Terminator as a knife set. This is EXACTLY why I bought them, so I'm very satisfied with the blades. I also did the 'slice through paper' test they do in the video - and my results were the same.The scissors are OK - but nowhere near as sharp as the blades.The block is horrible. It is not obvious where the blades go because all the slots are pretty much the same width. This means that the blades flop around in the block. One of the video reviews demonstrates this. Also, the scissor placement is horrible. It's right in between the big slots and the little slots. The scissors should be off to the side. And because the scissor slot is just as loose as the other slots, the scissors 'sag' into the small blades on the bottom of the block. So, whenever you reach for the scissors or the small blades, they will get tangled.I was willing to buy a better block and went to the Zwilling web site. Unfortunately, all their blocks have the same design. There is no block where the slots tightly fit the blades.But the blades themselves are AWESOME! Perhaps leave them in their sleeves and put them in a drawer.

We are very happy with these knives! Incredibly sharp and durable. They are lightweight, but don't let that fool you... they get the job done!

Been using these day after day for going on 16 years. Finally, this past week , I purchased a blade sharpener. I previously had used, occasionally, the Smith’s sharpening stone.So I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Let me just start by saying I LOVE learning how to cook new and different things. I'm not an expert chef, but many friends consider me to be their source for cooking advice. That being said, having recently gotten married, I was scouring the internet for reviews on great knife sets that wouldn't break the bank... Then I realized I should just ask my expert cook mom! Without hesitation or even batting an eye, she recommended I look for Zwilling JA Henckels TWIN knives to be the set that starts our newly married life. AND if possible, search for ones NOT made in China...We then bought the 11-piece set and it has proven to be the best culinary addition to our new family's kitchen! Since I received these beautiful knives with Amazon's wonderful & prompt delivery (July 2012), I've used these knives with anticipation for what I will cook, every single day! Even after daily use (after 4-5 months) the edges are as sharp as ever, with no sign of dulling yet!

Seriously the best knives I’ve ever bought. Love the block it comes with, super easy to clean and cut with. All the different sizes come in clutch esp the peeling one.
